Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Look Ahead: Huge game in Maryland

Analyst: Mike Farrell

Game: Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic at Olney (Md.) Good Counsel, Friday

Stefon Diggs Good Counsel, 6-0/160, ATH, 2012 prospect

Diggs is easily the most explosive athlete on the Good Counsel team and possibly in the game, but will he get enough touches to make a difference. How will he deal with double teams and being keyed on by the DeMatha secondary and linebackers?

A Streak of their Own: Good Counsel Captures Second Straight Title with 42-3 Win over DeMatha

Dancel then passed for his next two scores, finding Stefon Diggs on a screen pass who broke free for 50 yards, and the pair ended the half with a 30-yard touchdown hookup.

Dancel and Diggs then put the final touches on their 2010 championship when the pair hooked up for one last score with just over a minute left in the final quarter. Winners of four in a row coming into the game, it wasn't just the win that opened eyes for many of the fans in attendance - Good Counsel's control of the game from start to finish left much of the DeMatha faithful shaking their heads.

"I didn't know what it was going to be like," Diggs said about his team"s margin of victory. "Every time we play DeMatha, it's kind of shaky; you don't know what's going to happen."

I would like to see this kid get an offer right now!

Did anybody see the game against St. X last year? He pretty much single handedly won that game for his team. He was all over the field.

This would be my next offer and I would do it now. He could play either side. WR or CB and still be a stud.

What are your impressions of him?

Free Rivals - The first five-stars: Stefon Diggs

Offers from Alabama, Cal, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia.

Scouting report: Diggs is a dynamic slot receiver who is a terrific route runner, gets in and out of his breaks very quickly and has reliable hands. He gets off the line easily despite lacking great size and he has tremendous body control and the ability to make acrobatic catches look easy. After the catch he is very elusive and is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. He could also be used as a punt and kick returner at the next level and he has the hips and instincts to play cornerback if needed. However, his future is clearly on offense.

Free 247 - National Notes: 5-star predictions

Diggs and Miami

Five-star athlete Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), the nation's No. 8 overall prospect, plans to visit Miami (Fla.), Florida and Florida State this spring, along with Maryland and perhaps Cal and USC.The official Good Counsel football twitter (@gcfootball) reported a couple of days ago that while the Hurricanes have always been a 'dream school' of sorts for Diggs, that he's open to all comers. Maryland and first-year head coach Randy Edsall are definitely in the mix- they already have a commitment from four-star Good Counsel offensive tackle Mike Madaras. The early guess here is that Diggs ends up somewhere in the state of Florida- likely Miami- or elects to stay at home and play for the Terps.
