Mo C @ the combine

Just watched the RB workouts online. The times are unofficial times..but they are in the ballpark..the times were the ones mentioned by the commentators...The two times are for the two 40 yard dashes that they run..

Maurice Clarett = Fucking Dumbass. He'll never see a pro football field without a ticket.

Are these taking forever for anyone else?

I'm on cable modem and clicked the non-dailup (e.g., "fast") connection, and I'm getting a blazing 6.28KB per sec which is no better than a good dailup connection. Then again, with all us nimrod Buckeye fans hitting their server at the same time...

Through the Make-A-Wish foundation, I got to spend over a hour talking to Maurice with my parents and sister. It bothers me that the one player on the 2002 national championship team that I picked to meet, ended up like this. I could have met Craig Krenzel, Doss, Wilhelm, Tressel, etc...All these great players, and better yet, great people!! He seemed so normal, and was actually a pretty nice guy. But, I think it was all an act! The only good thing out of the experience was I got to go to the Michigan game, and a great personalized autographed mini helmet from coach Tressel!

I got to Make-A-Wish because I have Muscular Dystrophy! It's a GREAT oranization, especially for kids that have turminal illnesses! It just pisses me off that I could have met real Buckeyes, instead of a FAKE!

I know this is sacrilege, but I for one hope MoC gets his shot in the NFL and I hope he has a successful career. I hate the negative publicity he has brought to tOSU, but I find it not so hard to forgive (although I won't forget). We can't forget that this kid was not raised in the most ideal circumstances, so where do expect him to get his values? We as fans, as well as the media, overhype these kids to no end. And without a solid value system, its bound to go to their head like it did MoC. Some kids can't handle it. Bottom line, he was young and stupid, and in many ways, he has paid a huge price. As for his recent maturation, I'm not buying it yet. When your not raised with a value system, it takes a very long time to develop one. I'll expect mature behavior from MoC when he is in his 40's.

Regardless of how well he does at the combines, he is going to get his shot in the NFL, and I believe he will see playing time. The combines will ultimately determine his starting salary. Unfortunately for Mo, RB's don't last long in the NFL, the beating is too intense. Mo's running style is very aggressive, he runs with total abandon, I think its why he is so damn good. I also think its why he gets hurt alot. I'm not sure how long that can play out in the NFL, I don't think very long.

The people who have really left me pissed are ESPiN. That ate up everything Mo said in order to ambush tOSU. They made no attempt to talk to other players who had successful careers, rather they went after those who were more likely to have an axe to grind. Even then, they conducted the interviews under false pretenses. Saying ESPiN doesn't have an agenda agains tOSU is like saying the New York Times doesn't have an agenda against Republicans. The bottom line, I will forgive MoC, someday I might even pull for him. ESPiN, no forgiveness, never (especially Mark May and Trev Alberts).

Go Bucks!

I got the Nuge video at 160 kb/sec on Adelphia Cable. But, that was before I posted it on Buckeye Planet.
