Rasheed Walker enjoys visit

Ohio State hosted a slew of visitors for the Penn State game, and the Monday recruiting notebook has a number of updates on key prospects. One of the biggest was Maryland 4-star prospect Rasheed Walker, one of the nation’s top offensive line recruits.

“It was fun,” Walker told Land of 10. “I enjoyed myself a lot. Me and my dad went for his birthday.”

Walker would be enormous. As already said, getting Carman, Wray and Walker would be incredible. Jones is a future interior OL and one of those guys could definitely slide down. Will be interesting to see if we can land Walker, PSU was way out front at one point.

Seeing how bad the depth was in the Iowa game coupled with quite a few misses in recent years leaves us in dire need to get 4 maybe 5 OL in this class. Meyer has discussed this and while last years class appears to have gone 3 for 3 on OL recruits we still lose 2 starters this year. While we have addressed our DT needs quite nicely this year and appear to maybe get one more, we still need bodies for the OL. Luckily we haven't been hit with the injury bug on the OL but the glimpse of how easy it is to get rolled up on is a scary sight. We need at least 4 guys and we haven't heard much on the Walker front but he had to be impressed with the PSU performance and atmosphere. There hasn't been a whole lot of action on the OL other than Walker and Barnes and now gettin Cade Mayes on campus so the staff must have a good idea of how things are going to end up already.
