    247 - Making Walker a priority

Recent offers from Florida, Michigan and Ohio State...talks about how excited he was about the OSU offer...talking to the Maryland staff routinely. Also likes Penn State and is hoping for offer from Florida State, Miami and Tennessee.

Love how athletic and aggressive this kid is. OT all the way, IMHO. Very comparable with Nicholas Petit-Frere, though our odds look to be better with Rasheed at this stage of the game. Really hope we can make him part of this class because he's a player

Yeah, listened to Wiltfong on a podcast yesterday make a good argument for him in this class and he also thinks we have a good shot still at Carman.

I've said it a bunch---would love 3 OT types in this class. It seems like OTs often slide down to guard not the other way around and I've wondered if that could happen to Wray so as many athletic, long OT types the better. I'm just not sold on current depth.

Exactly. To me that's been the difference between Bama and now even Clemson compared to tOSU, FSU and the other schools recruiting at the highest level. Both Bama and Clemson have had better trenches and WRs in the last few years. Bama's WR haul in the last class was sick. And they just always seem to be solid on both sides of the line.

Walker is exactly the kind of guy you just always find room for.

I would certainly agree with this. Part of our issue seems to have been development though, our OL recruiting has been stepped up in recent years. I mean, our best OL under UFM was a patch-work of 3 stars and low 4 stars, most of which he inherited. If we can't make a powerhouse OL out of the '16'/'17'/18 classes (Michael Jordan, Tyler Gerald, Malcolm Pridegon, Jack Wohlabaugh, Gavin Cupp, Wyatt Davis, Josh Myers, Thayer Munford, Max Wray, Matthew Jones, Carman Jackson (?), Rasheed Walker (?)), then I don't know what to tell you. OL is a really tough position to project, but those are some really good classes stacked up. But that is a conversation for another thread.

Walker has a spot if we can beat out PSU, plain and simple. A class of Wray, Jones, Carman and Walker would be lights out, plain and simple. However, I am inclined to say I think we have a little ways to go on Walker and still trail PSU by a considerable margin. But if anyone else has a shot, it is us.

Wiltfong was hinting class size might work against PSU?
