May depend on what DB depth looks like early on. There will be lots of spots to fill in the back end next year. Plenty of weapons back on the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah, even though I’d like to see what Martinez can do in this offense. He’ll have a better opportunity seeing the field at S. Proctor is essentially the only proven returning S, with an injured Hickman coming back and an unproven Shaw. Not to mention it’s still up in the air how the bullet will ever be used, leaving White(and Wint to a lesser extent) in limbo

I think that is basically it. Martinez might be better on offense, but we probably need him more on the defensive side. That being side, I also struggle to think about not putting the ball in his hands on offense. But he'll land in Columbus and the coaches will figure it out.

In 14 games during the 2018 season, Martinez established Muskegon High single-season rushing records with 2,526 yards and 38 TDs.

The majority of Martinez’s biggest games have come against the Big Reds’ toughest opponents. Against the lesser opponents, he hardly carried the ball.

“I mean, no one will know the outstanding numbers this young man could have put up,” Muskegon coach Shane Fairfield said recently. “But that’s what makes him so special, I think, is that he surrounds himself with good karma because he just treats people right, he treats the game right, he treats his friends right, treats his teammates right, his family right.

“I think that’s why he’s gotten so much recognition and so much respect … not so much what he does, but what he could do, and he’s not upset about not doing it, if that makes any sense.”
