From the Notre Dame site....Talks about his interest in the Irish. Recent visits to Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Toledo & Pittsburgh. Plans on cutting his list within a few months and will take officials during his season.

Terry is best friends with James Ross. That seems to be a main reason that he is moving up his announcement (?).

Urban said Greg Mattison is one of the best recruiters.....he wasnt joking. Looks like another good get for ttun defense. I can only hope they continue to stock pile defensive guys and strike out on the other side and do a role reversal of RR. Now we will see if hoke can get his winning percentage over .500 .......Go Bucks

I don't think the investigation is slowing us down too much here.

What I do think is affecting OSU:

1. Terry is friends with Michigan commit Ross
2. When JT was hired he had a phenominal recruiting class in 02 (his 01 class was only his for a couple of weeks. Michigan is following the same trend. Hoke's first class wasn't all his due to timing of the hire. This class is Hoke's first true class and (among other things) Hoke is selling the reemergence of Michigan football for Michigan kids the way JT sold OSU football to Ohio kids. Is there some negative recruiting by Hoke? Probably. But I think other factors are driving Hoke's recruiting class right now.
3. We have a very small 15 or scholarships to offer which is 1/3rd filled already. I am sure there are recruits JT would take no matter what, but this year I think will be slower for recruiting news and commitments.
4. As noted above Mattison is reputed to be a great recruiter.

Terry and Royce have said publicly that they did not like RR and his staff. Ross was probably in that same boat.

Moving from RR to a guy like Hoke was a big adjustment in a good way for the in state prospects.

He was back on Michigan's campus yesterday.

As much talk of Mattison being a great recruiter, Fred Jackson(RB coach) is handling Detroit. He is the one getting it rolling with these kids.
