...
Another player coveted by MSU for the class of 2011 is Grand Blanc running back Justice Hayes. The 5-11, 185-pound prospect picked up scholarship offers from Minnesota and Illinois on Thursday.

Hayes now has 11 offers and is one of only four prospects to have a scholarship offer from both the Spartans and the Wolverines. SpartanMag.com ranks Hayes the third-best prospect in Michigan for the class of 2011.

Rivals $ - Michigan moving up Hayes' list

Attended the scUM junior day last weekend & was very impressed with the staff... He received a lot of one on one attention & is encouraged by the plans they have laid out about how they plan to use him... He's not comfortable committing to any school until he's comfortable with the direction of the program & evidence that it's on the upswing...

Rivals $ - Hayes ready to compete

Hayes feels he's at his best when the competition level rises... He won't be pick his school based on depth charts or commits from other TBs... He likes the plans MSU have detailed to him about how they want to use him both in the run game & split out at times... He'll hold off on a decision until at least the fall to see the direction of the schools recruiting him...

Thoughts after U-M's Junior Day
Posted: Feb. 24, 2010
BY JOSH HELMHOLDT

...
"I've been there before, but the thing that most jumped out at me this time was talking with the coaches," Hayes said. "I was able to talk to every coach, but I spent most of my time with Coach (Fred) Jackson. He told me everything I needed and wanted to hear at this point."

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Hayes has 11 scholarship offers from teams like Iowa, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue and Wisconsin. He came away from the Junior Day experience with more interest in the Wolverines than before the trip.

Scout 4 - Hayes Says It?s Crazy
Allen Wallace of SuperPrep.com, Feb 24, 2010

Recruiting & the contact from schools has reached a level Hayes didn't expect... Favorites are ND, scUM, Sparty, Northwestern, & Iowa (all offered)... Others showing a lot of interest include OSU, UCLA, USC, & Tennessee... He prefers to stay in the midwest if he can but distance won't keep him from picking a school if it's the right fit... Not sure yet if he'll camp at OSU this summer...

Says he's open to playing in a spread or a pro style as long as the program helps develop him for the next level... Also says he plans to graduate before going pro so he has something to fall back on... Grew up a Sparty fan but admits he would've committed to scUM already if not for their record the last 2 years... Distance will be a factor & he wants to stay close to home... No mention of OSU & plans to decide after the season...
