Beavis isn't taking the NC appearance well. They make Fredo(OH) seem downright rationale.
You can see where the future Brady Hokes of the world are going to come from.

I would be cool with this.

P5 Champs + 2 highest ranked non-champs + Highest rated G5 champ.

Boise State (20) @ Alabama

Mississippi State (7) @ Oregon

TCU (6) @ FSU

Baylor (5) @ Ohio State

Sparty gets left out this year for the truck drivers. If the mid-major takes the plunger every year, it shuts them up and is a nice bye week reward for being the #1 seed. If not, well then they deserved to be there anyways.

At the end of the day, the mid-majors are going to take whatever scraps we shove off the side of the table because their lawyers have already told them there is NO antitrust or collusion issues and their accountants have told them that they'll make more money at our feet than they will breaking off and forming their own G5 playoff.

Stupid mid-majors.

That would be disappointing to me. The #20 team in the country, P5 or no P5, has zero right to be in the college football playoffs.

If you go to 8 teams, you take the best 8 teams regardless of conference affiliation.

Definitely, however we know they'd make a special clause for the Domers, like they did with the BCS selections.

As for all of the OU talk, it's absolutely hilarious to me. I went there for a year after high school and that was when football sucked more than Mark May. No one cared. Football games were something you went to watch (for a quarter or two) in between parties. And mostly because it was free. No one cared if you were an OSU fan.

I've been back on campus since then and it's like since they'd had a few 8 win, get to go to a participation bowl seasons, they think they're actually a good football program and act like OSU has to be shunned. Oh, and they're actually proud of the black eye that was Rufus trying to tackle Brutus.

I hope not. Who's going to go to bat for them. Not even Swofford and the ACC are so stupid as to set up a situation where the domers could possibly bump a higher rated second ACC school out, and I doubt the domers would be sharing their playoff money with the rest of their "conference" to make it a money decision. If the domers are given anything beyond be one of the top 3 ranked at-large teams and you're in, I just fucking give up.

As for the mid-majors, nobody hates those whiney little bitches more than me, but I guess I could choke back the bile and stomach one of them getting into an 8 team playoff every year provided that first round has home field advantage. Don't get me wrong though, my preference is for the rationale P5champs + highest ranked non champs.

Wow! This one has it all figured out. It has nothing to do with being the state's flagship university and almost a century's success as a national football power.

I have noticed that people in Columbus tend to be sheep when it comes to most things. They crowd into the same lane at the parking garage, even though other lanes are open. They wait in long lines at a ticket window at the movies despite other windows being available. Other things, too. I've noticed this more in Columbus than anywhere else. A lot of O$U's following comes from this sheep mentality.

Most of The Other State Universities are attempting to just bury their head in the sand and completely ignore the NC game. Fredo(OH) has a brief thread on it but nothing all that spectacular. Beavis, however, is doubling down and cranking the stupid to 11.

The new Akron Prez has come up with an interesting thought that deserves a hearing. Given that he's running a typical broke-ass MAC athletic department that relies on massive subsidies from the academic side and student fees to stay afloat, he wants to concentrate on recruiting Ohio athletes since the scholarship costs will be substantially less. I have to hand it to him. He inherited the fiscal tire-fire that Louis Proenza dumped on the state and the clown show that the guy in between them created (he was the one who tried to privatize everything in sight and start the corps of cadets), but he seems to be doing a decent job given the shitstorm he walked into.

They should recruit only Summit County kids. That way they can close the athletic dorms and make them commute. Save megabucks that way.
