Campbell, like pretty much all of our last four opponents, is playing their best ball of the year down the stretch. They’ve won 12 of their last 15, but have had issues midweek. They do have a win over N.C. State midweek but other than that they haven’t had much luck. I feel like we should be able to put up some runs and hopefully smoke the camels! I’ll show myself out...

That was not the way you wanna go into the weekend. That 9th inning was an absolute clown show. Dunno if anyone followed along or watched but Feltner came in because it was his day to throw bullpen anyway. He WP in a run walks a guy hits two guys and then gives up a grannny. We hit 8 guys and walked 5 today. Campbell walked 12 yesterday but made us earn it today, and we did a nice job at the plate today. I think We hit better today than we have in a while...even snapped our nine game homeless streak, but man the bullpen has been really bad lately outside of 3 guys. Your bullpen really gets exposed midweek. The only guys Beals trusts right now are Kinker, Michalik, and Wooby...they all pitched yesterday. Everyone else is having major control issues.

Meanwhile, Purdue is rolling. Scored 5 in the 9th to beat Ball St today and hung 27 on IUPFW yesterday. Thats 13 in a row for them. *Gulp*

I hate being such a miserable, chicken shite baseball fan. Sorry fellas

What? You mean OSU pitchers had *8* HBP? Is that a record? I'll bet it's a record number that wasn't immediately followed by a benches-clearing brawl.

This is college baseball where some teams welcome HBP...usually the ones who don't hit well. Campbell batters have been plunked 100 times this year. For perspective, Buckeye hitters only 40. So mix a buncha guys not overly anxious to get out of the way with a buncha guys with control problems and you get 8 HBP.

I went to 3-4 OSU games last year and don't remember even 1 HBP.

They hit 59 guys last year and comfortably lead the B1G this year with 67 HBP.

That stat has been trending in the wrong direction the last few years. Maybe it has something to do with the loss of Josh Newman a few years back? Regardless, the last two pitching staffs have arguably been the worst of the Beals era. The one thing you couldn’t really complain about in his tenure had been the pitching. Consistently one of the better staffs in the B10...
