Mike Leach (HC Mississippi State, a National Treasure, R.I.P.)

When you start filing restraining orders to fight suspensions it is time to negotiate a settlement and move on with life. If Tech thinks they can get out without paying him anything I think they're reaching unless they have him on video caught in the act.

And I seriously question the integrity of James at this point. His timing is convenient, his dad is an arrogant clown and I'd bet the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Sounds like a shitty player with a shitty attitude taking advantage of being the son of a father that has access to a large national media outlet and the recent uproar over concussions. The kid has been in the doghouse all year.

I did hear the phone interview with Leach's attorney and the guy couldn't hardly put a coherent sentence together.....you would figure that with his salary he could afford a pretty good lawyer.

Yep...helloooooooo Pony Express payola.

TT has to really be wrestling with itself over this. Valid or not, this will create an uproar if they keep him on. If they can him, they can kiss their 8-10 wins and bowl games every year goodbye.

Did you hear the segment on SportsCenter? They had a quote from the WR coach about him getting punished 2 practices before the concussion for not showing enough effort. When the hell did this happen? Why the hell didn't they bring it up after the second time? Not right before your bowl game. Brilliant!

Or they could throw some dough at Chris Petersen or Gary Patterson?

What? He's at least made Tech somewhat of a competitive team.

I agree, but, between the slimeball vibe I've always gotten from him and the fact that I feel he is partly responsible for the changing the belief to offense being more important. I just don't like it.

Foley already signed him. He's our new Coach-In-Waiting-If-the-Interim-Guy-Sucks-and-the-Other-Guy-Doesn't-Come-Back.

He signed both of them? That's some back up plan.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the hearing that is supposed to happen this morning. From all that has come out so far it sounds like there are some issues on both sides of the fence. It is always hard to tell when this type of stuff is played out through the media and information comes out in bits and pieces. In some ways it reminds me of when you had to go in front of your parents with your brother and you both keep digging stuff up that happened in the past to make your arguement sound better and to justify what you did or didn't do.

From the beginning of this I have always had a hunch that James is full of it and this has more to do with ego than anything else. Leach reporting he expects to get fired seems like a pre-emptive move to put the ball in TT's court whether they want it there or not right now.

Part of the problem may be that Leach himself is an attorney, and he may figure on essentially representing himself. He may have hired an incompetent simply so he could control the guy.
