Mike Yurcich (Unemployed)

Hope he's still around for the scUM game next year, because I can only imagine what that kind of fiery speech would do to a scUM Skull Session crowd.

The “I’d run through a wall for that guy,” statements can be cliche and overstated. But watch Ryan Day, Kevin Wilson, or Chase Young in the background. Yurcich is bringing the fire, and they believe it.

Would loved to have played for this guy.

Rumors out there that Yurcich is on his way out, possibly to be the OC at Texas.

Some insight from Andrew Ellis in an 11W thread:

Regardless of who the source is, I think he's spot on and this information has actually been circulating for a while now. I don't get why anyone would be too up in arms over it really. He doesn't call plays (and never will here) and finding a "passing game coordinator" wouldn't be difficult at all under Day. I've been under the impression that he's more likely to be OC at a place like Texas or Notre Dame than to be back in Columbus next year.

I've heard he's not an easy guy to get along with at all. Have also heard that Okie State wasn't going to keep him around if Ohio State hadn't hired him. Somewhat hard to believe given how good their offenses were, but I guess he's a really tough guy to work with.

Haven't heard anything and I don't think this Yurcich stuff is 100 percent done yet. If it were to happen then I'd think maybe they'd just look for a younger guy who can recruit. The offense is in good hands regardless with Day and Wilson running the show.

FWIW I also know this has been making the rounds in the coaching carousel rumor mill and I was told it's one of the things Georgia was using against Ohio State in the recruitment of C.J. Stroud.

On who coached the QBs
It's a dual effort but mostly Day from what I have been told.

On if Day is pushing for Yurcich to look for a new job (Withers style)
My personal opinion (based on what I've been told at least) is that this is exactly what's going on.

Seems like mill type stuff isn’t it? Especially on game week.
Honestly if he takes that job I question his intelligence. He is on a team with national championship aspirations and is interested in a school with a head soach that has much if not more control over his offense and is an 8 win season away from being fired? There is no reason to go from OC on a successful team to one ya might be fired next year
