Milwaukee Bucks (2x NBA Champions)

I bet the consensus at the time was that it was a smart move, right?
An ESPN analyst gave the Bucks a B-minus grade. The negative side was mostly the idea that, at that time, they needed to sign extensions with Jrue and Giannis, which they have since done. I would think in hindsight, knowing the Bucks got the contracts done, they would re-grade the trade as an A for Milwaukee.

Why didn't he bitch and pout and moan and form a super team?

Cause he didn’t grow up an entitled coronated teen AAU social media creation.

Great story (from 2014) about Giannis:

The fan that gave Giannis a ride to the BMO Harris Bradley Center tells her side of the story

It was already enjoyable enough, but it gets even better.

On Saturday, Nov 23, it was cold in Milwaukee (below 20 degrees in the afternoon). I was shopping in the Brady Street area (the east side of Milwaukee, a few minutes away from the BMO Harris Bradley Center) with my boyfriend of 35 years. We saw a tall black guy running by and he looked familiar. I drove by him again four blocks away and realized it was Giannis. I stopped the car, rolled down the window and asked if he wanted a ride.

"Are you going to the Bradley Center?" he asked and I said yes. He was wearing only a windbreaker.

When he got in the car, I said "you need a winter jacket." He said his credit card didn't work & he'd sent all the money to his family in Greece. He thanked us over and over again for the ride. He was running from where he lives ("on Lake Drive," he said). I got an autograph (in Greek!), but didn't think to get a photo (I'm full of regret). Imagine a photo of all 6'10" of him in the backseat of my Honda Fit (incredibly small back seats)!

We dropped him off at the BMOHBC and he said "Thanks, you really saved me!" I was so excited to have him in my car, that I didn't even think to get a photo. I hope he now has a winter jacket and proper transportation.

Sources: Lasry agrees to sell his stake in Bucks to Haslams

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has reached an agreement to sell his portion of the Bucks to Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam at a $3.5 billion valuation, sources told ESPN.
.
.
.
Lasry and Edens also spearheaded the building of Fiserv Forum, the downtown arena the Bucks play in, which opened in 2018, along with the surrounding Deer District. Lasry plans to retain downtown Milwaukee real estate holdings after the sale, sources said.

The Haslams, who built their fortune through the Pilot Flying J truck stop chain, are making their latest move in the sports ownership realm. They purchased the Browns from Randy Lerner for a little over a billion dollars in 2012, and they bought the Columbus Crew MLS franchise in 2019.
