Minnesota WR to transfer

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Wide receiver Brodrick Smith has left the Gophers football team.

Smith will transfer to a school closer to his Kansas home. Coach Tim Brewster says he admires Smith's decision to be closer to his young son.

Smith played in 12 of Minnesota's 13 games as a freshman last season and was in the starting lineup twice, recording five receptions for 50 yards including a 43-yard touchdown catch against Wisconsin.

Too bad for Jeff Tow-Arnett, the starting center. His brother is the tight end.

Ohio State needs to bounce back to get back on track for Big 10 title, at least. They will be welcomed at home as always.

Hopefully, we will see some improvements being made on offense. This game will definitely show where the team stands because Penn State were able to shut them out last weekend. If the defense gives up a lot of points to Minnesota and the offense is still unable to produce well, then the signs aren't good for Ohio State's final three games.

I kinda feel sorry for Minny. I have a feeling that the Bucks are going to let lose some frustration on them.

:oh:

I predict our D get their third shut-out of the season, and the O explodes with TP proving all the haters wrong. Coach Darrell Hazell leaves his unmistakable marks on play calling.

Are you one of those guys who makes crazy, unrealistic predictions every week so that once or twice a year you can quote yourself and thump your chest, without pointing out your horrible overall record?

I love those guys.

I will decline to answer.
Eh, I assume you're hoping that Pryor was benched. I don't think that talking about in at this point is in the realm of bashing as long as we are able to discuss the ramifications of said move. I mean from the outside looking in, I would take a hard look. Pryor wasn't good last week, nor the week before. But him not seeing the pine yet, tells me more about Joe Bauserman than it does Pryor.

People have been saying that the Pryor needs to throw the quick slant more, but I don't see how that helps considering when he did how many times he sailed meaning for an incompletion or Posey/Carter making an incredibly acrobatic catch. I honestly don't know what throw he can make at this point.

Grad21 has pointed out how the fundamentals of Pryor's rollouts, speed options, read options are lacking fundamentals and execution from Pryor that every coach in America teaches. I don't doubt this. And if 21 sees it, I'm guessing the coaches do too. It seems like they may need to take a week from game planning and drill fundamentals. Even if you have to practice the offense against air just to make Pryor take the proper depth on his rollout or option. How to read the end. Convince him that taking the 4 inside more often will likely mean that some of his outside runs are more effective. At this point Pryor can't worry about the NFL because he's not even a good college QB.
