I have an HD capture (1280x720 - 720p) of this week's Minnesota game I captured with a Hauppauge HD PVR. The problem is, I have no way to compress down this h.264 file without sacrificing a lot of quality.

It's currently a single .ts file, 3 hours long, with commercials, and 12GB.

Here's a screen cap of the quality of file I have: http://www.verityhw.com/uploader/files/1/original-720.jpg

I'd have no problem uploading this 12GB file to someone capable of editing this down and distributing it amongst the BP community, but I don't think I would have too much success seeding a 12GB file that most of us have no feasible way of fitting on a DVD.

Hi Mr. Code Dude.

Thanks for capturing it. Do you mind creating a second version that's at a much lower bit rate for the desperate amongst us that live abroad and can't see any Bucks games? If you could compress it to 4gb or less, it'll work as a torrent. I don't mind a lesser quality if I can see the game.

Cheers from Hanoi!

yes altough the quality seems very good, for people living overseas a lower quality version (x264 or xvid) is just perfect : it will spread very fast via bittorent.

If you have time to reencode this one i will post it @ ten yards torrent.

Anyway thx for the nice work !

I can share a copy

If no one has this by the time I hop on the computer tomorrow, er later today, I'll start seeding the game. I made an avi (xvid or divx, don't really know which one it is lol) that's 2.15 GB with no commercials or halftime.

I noticed that the TYT file has 1 seeder and things are slow moving. It'd probably be the same deal with my copy. I guess it'd just be a matter of convenience with it being hosted here rather than at TYT? Dunno.

Just leave me a message if you want me to upload my copy here. I'd be glad to share as long as you guys don't care about it being HD, because it's not.

could you tell us which codec did you use for your release ( xvid, avi, divx, x264) ?

If it's just a regular xvid/avi there might be some interest @ tyt , and anyway there would be more leechers if we post it here and @tyt

If it's a x264 release, my guess is tyt people won't need yours

But thx a lot :)

I believe it's a x264. Long drawn out process to get it down to that. Last time I shared 2 vobs, so I wanted it in one file that was smaller.

Ok, I'll get started.

Ok, here's the torrent.

x264 (DVD rip)
No Commercials
No Halftime
2:17:08

Let me know if there are any issues. Still trying to get the hang of all this stuff!

EDIT: For some reason, my internet connection is really screwy today. I'm going to blame my brother and RoadRunner because it makes me feel better. So I moved the file to another comp and uploaded a new torrent. So if you already opened the old one, I apologize and ask you to get this new one. Sorry!
