if the entire defensive line is offsides.. is it still a penalty?
Just posted that in the shenanigans and weekly threads.....what a bunch of shit! Especially in the shot I found, there is a ref looking right down the line.
And those douchenozzles are complaining about the refs!

Tracy Claeys Shakes Up Offensive Staff, Limegrover & Zebrowski Contracts Not Renewed

Just a day after the Gopher's 2015 season Tracy Claeys has begun to shape his staff and program in the way he would like to see it constructed.

"Matt and Jim are both terrific people and coaches, but I have decided to make a change that will better fit my offensive philosophy, which is to have one coordinator calling the plays," said Claeys. "They have been great representatives for the university and always put our student-athletes first, and I thank them for their contributions to our program and wish them well in the future."

Matt Limegrover has been the offensive coordinator for Jerry Kill since 2001 and has coached along side Tracy Claeys since 1999. This move is a bit surprising considering they have coached along side each other for so many years. Coach Kill was incredibly loyal to his assistants, maybe to a fault, and I think many assumed Claeys would retain Limegrover.

Could be a move to quell resentment/bickering that Claeys was promoted to HC over the other guys. Relieving the other longtime coordinators makes it clear it's his team. And to be fair, it's not like these Gopher teams were shattering conference records with their offense since Kill arrived anyway. If they had been even just merely competent, they could have beaten TCU and Michigan this season.

Report: Minnesota players threaten boycott of bowl game

Minnesota is set to play Washington State in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27 but there are suddenly questions about whether there will be any Gophers left to take the field down in San Diego.

The school indefinitely suspended 10 players from the team on Tuesday, several for the second time this year, for unspecific ‘violations of team rules.’ According to the Star Tribune, the rest of the team is taking action against the suspensions and have gone to school leaders threatening a boycott of the Holiday Bowl as a result of the actions.

The Gophers had a players-only meeting Thursday and later brought in head coach Tracy Claeys to inform him of their plans, sources said. According to two parents of players, all of the team’s players are planning a united announcement Thursday evening to say they will boycott the Holiday Bowl if “their demands are not met” — a reference to their disagreement with the decision to suspend the 10 players.

Five of those 10 football players suspended from the team now face expulsion from school, the players’ attorney, Lee Hutton, said Wednesday night. Four other players face a one-year suspension and another could get probation stemming from the Sept. 2 incident. The school discipline comes weeks after a criminal investigation resulted in no arrests or charges.

I think they should survey every players parents and ask if they are prepared to pay for the remainder of their son's education if Minnesota pulls their scholarship because their son boycotted scheduled football activities. Remember getting a scholarship and playing football at Minnesota (like any other school) is a privilege not a right.

After the Duke LaCrosse fiasco, I'm always a bit cautious on these things... but then Jameis, Baylor, etc.

The Duke boys were arrested. These players have only been suspended. Unless there's a right to play college football their liberty has not been taken, unlike the Dookies.

This protest of refusing to play if their demands are not met seems very much in line with the snowflakes on college campi who think they can sit in, hold their breath, or otherwise throw a fit, and always get their way. What now, Minny?

Reading the r/CFB thread on this puts me in the mind that some of the players should absolutely be suspended/expelled/etc, and that some are possibly "collateral damage" that should be reinstated. The team taking a hardline either/or stance is interesting, because I would like to think that they would be smarter than that if even one of the players is deserving of punishment and aware of the current situation surrounding sexual assault on campuses and the athletic ties. As always, it seems like there's a little more to the story, unfortunately, than we have available.
