Game Thread Minnesota @ Ohio State - 10/13/18, 12:00PM (FS1)

Don't know your tastes in food, but here goes.
I have lived in the north end since 1979 and have eaten several times at each of these joints and been pleased with what I had.

Mexican-American: La Casita, 1355 Bethel Road, just east of Godown Road. Good stuff and plenty of it. If you've never had fried ice cream, good place to start.

Salvadoran: El Ranchero Kitchen (next to an Ohio Car Title Agency) 984 Morse Road, about two blocks east of I-71. Very good stuff. Not like a Mexican place. Strawberry dessert is excellent.

Natalie's, 5601 North High Street, catty-corner from Saint Michael's. Has live music, so there may be a cover charge. Really good pizza from a coal-fired oven. Love it.

Villa Nova, 5545 North High Street, about two blocks south of Natalie's: Italian-American. Very good lasagna, meat or veggie. Good spaghetti alla carbonara, ravioli, gnocchi. I've had 'em all and liked them.

Iron Grill, 5295 North High Street, three blocks south of Villa Nova: very good barbecue, smoked on-premises. Good salads, flat breads, great fries. You can also get sweet potato fries here, if you've never tried them.

Nancy's Home Cooking, 3133 North High Street. This joint was frequented by OSU football and basketball coaches, when Nancy King was the proprietor. I don't believe that she ever turned anyone away who was hungry. Very small place, but whopping portions, especially for breakfast. Excellent home fries. Every Ohio State fan ought to eat here at least once. On Saturdays, open 0600 to 1430 hours.
