Can definetley see another couple state titles for the Wildcats with him at the helm. Wouldn't mind seeing Maty in the Scarlet and Grey at all
If we take 2 QBs this year, then Maty has no chance, through no fault of his own though... we'll have roughly 13-15 scholarships to give in 2012 then and just not enough to squeeze a QB. If we only take 1 though this year (Miller), then I can see Maty getting a strong look. I have his name pop up on many early 2012 watch lists.

Kid really has a knack for when to zip it in there and you can tell he's got a strong arm. That ability to scramble and scrap for the first down on broken plays makes him even more valuable at the next level. He looks like a Big Ten QB.

How many schollies we have is irrelevant, you always make room for elite QB's if they want in.

Kenton is right down the road from my old HS, and I had heard rumblings about "the next Mauk" since he was in seventh grade. Ben is kind of a folk hero around these parts, and although I haven't seen him, everyone that has has said he was more advance than Ben at that stage in his career.

I'm from the area around Kenton as well, maybe I'm buying into the hype a bit but I really think Maty might be special someday. I know they run a pass heavy offense but his numbers are ridiculous for a sophomore.

The staff would not turn down Mauk in 2012. But I doubt he and his father will let him attend Ohio State...he's Notre Dame's to lose.

Exactly...I would be surprised if the staff passes on Mauk. However, I would assume ND would be tough to beat as DontHateOstate said.

Well this is complete conjecture but if Notre Dame comes calling I could see him heading their way. This is solely based upon his brother's relationship with Coach Kelly.

Not happening. Kelly took three QB's last year and they're currently the leaders for Bubba Starling who could be a top 30 national recruit. ND simply doesn't have the room to take two more QB's this year given the limited number of schloarships they have for this class. Even if they miss on Starling I doubt they offer Mauk as they're already in on national QB's like Kevin Hogan (Gonzaga, DC) and Max Wittek (Mater Dei, CA).

Mauk is a nice player but he's not in those guys class.

Mauk is 2012. Maybe ND doesn't offer next year, but it is too early too tell.

But you ALWAYS make room for a great QB, regardless if you have 10 on the roster already.... apparently...

Do we even really know how good he actually is yet? I mean, early on we've hyped up QB's in Ohio many times in recent years, but really not many have turned out to be OSU material. Except for Braxton of course.
