Monday Night Football in Trouble?

Drop the NFL and start having some College games on Monday and I would tune back in.

Oh, I like that idea. It would mean the kids would be in class even less, but a Monday night college football game every once in a while would be great.

Fellas, here is a rare batch of audio that I ganked from ABC during their Pro Bowl reunion special with Miller and Al Michaels.

Al Michaels. "And Donavan McNabb makes a fantastic pass squeezing it through 2 defenders".

Dennis Miller "McNabb makes his best 19th century impression of a horseless carriage making its way through Grace Court Alley".

Michaels "What are you talking about Dennis?"

Miller "Much like my stomach after a long night of Kingfisher pints while watching re runs of "The Adventures of Fu Manchu".

Michaels "Dennis you have lost me"

Miller "Lost much like the early stories of Apostles' Creed, the girlhood and betrothal of Mary Suppressed by the early church fathers who compiled the Bible, these apocryphal books have been shrouded in silence for centuries."

Michaels "Please shoot me"

"The thing about turkey legs is when you're looking for a good turkey they have to have good turkey legs. If the turkey doesn't have good turkey legs that's not the kind of turkey legs you wanna be passing out on Thanksgiving day. I've always liked turkey legs and the key to a good turkey is good turkey legs."
That sounds like an actual broadcast

Dennis Miller

I actually miss Dennis being on there

I'll never forget a pre-season game comment he made:

A linebacker from the Browns made a routine tackle, jumped up and celebrated. Dennis commented,

"The guy makes a tackle, jumps up and beats his chest like he's Celine Dion."

I about shot beer out of my nose

I can't see how MNF can lose competing against "Everybody loves Raymond" (Which, I assure you, is a bold faced lie) and such. Hells bells, I'd watch the Bears v. Cards on Monday nights if that was the game.... Nothing else on TV... and I mean nothing, can compete with Football.. pro, college, HS.... whatever.

I'd watch it if it started (kickoff, not pregame coverage) at 8, I actually have to wake up in the morning for work, so I can't stay up until the game ends...they seem to always last 3.5-4 hours on MNF

I'm all for them switching to an earlier start time. They tried it a few years back and then they scrapped the earlier time a few weeks into the season. I have not watched many MNF games since then, at least the 2nd halves. I don't like wasting my time by watching the 1st half of a game that I know I won't watch the ending to.
