this whole "death threats" incident is bewildering... I am embarrassed that they are 'Buckeye fans'... I would prefer they be part of any other organization and root for anyone other than OSU because I am appalled... the perpetrators are felons.. not fans.. they lack the judgement and brain aptitude to qualify for even a scUM fan... and they deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent..

AK, you have to account for the fact that we all have varying levels of intelligence and civility as well: Penguin is not the sharpest needle in the haystack, and he was obviously pretty pissed, but he also represents the opinion of many other Buckeye fans (and opinions are by definition not objective). But you (that's the 'ubiquituous' you) only exacerbate the situation by heaping insults on the kid...

Herbie is a public figure and should expect to be a target for criticism, whether deserved or not; my biggest criticism is probably his thin skin.

Once again... opinions are not objective, but the basis for them can be... and probably should be... if the 'opinion of many other Buckeye fans' is that Herbstreit is a traitor, they can be expected to be contradicted by those who do not hold that opinion... especially when the basis for the him being a 'traitor' is third hand information from a statement that Andy Gieger makes that isn't really reflective of Herbstreits comments... Once again... 'Fuck Herbstreit' isn't a real good way to start an intelligent discussion on the merits of Geigers comments.

Herbie is just doing his job, which under no circumstances warrents his life to be threatened. No, I don't always agree with his opinions, but I am proud of the fact that he represents tOSU very well on Gameday and during game broadcasts.

Look at it this way, you could have to listen to Elvis Grbac or any other scUM QB instead of Herbie.......

Maybe its time for me to cut my medication... hmm?

Herbie is just doing his job, which under no circumstances warrents his life to be threatened.

Even if sucked at his job... it wouldn't warrant that kind of response.

it takes a big person to makes threats via email/mail. Anyone who has ever met Herbie can attest that he is one of the nicest people out there... it's a shame he has to deal with so called "fans" like this.

Those two never cease to amaze me with their incoherent arguments. It's clear to me they are ONLY there to stir up some shit. They claim we are either naive or covering this up. Insinuating we are covering up this stuff. When it was Mark and Trev's turn to talk they just spewed incoherent statements contradicting themselves throughout. What a joke. We should be prepared to hear this bullshit all day. Go Bucks!!

It gets old real quick... I hope the next time gameday comes to town, the tv picks up nothing but a bunch of "F" ESPN signs in the background... with the crowd taunting the crew...

ESPN is right up there with the NY Times as far as I'm concerned... they take half truths and spin them out of proportion... I'm surprised they didn't invite MoC as a guest of the show and "interview" him...

Hypocrisy

  1. Mark May played at Pitt when Jackie Sherrill was the coach there. That was one DIRTY program. Sherrill might be the most corrupt college football coach of the modern era.
  2. Trev Alberts played at Nebraska in a similar situation to the Buckeyes. I would never question Tom Osbourne's integrity or honesty. The teams Albert played on were the ones that gave Nebraska a horrible black eye nationally. Lawrence Phillips (NU's very own Reecie substitute), a defensive back who was indicted for manslaughter or murder. A defensive lineman (Peeters) who climbed through a drive in window at a fast food joint to beat up the attendant (Wouldn't want to screw up his order:)).
These two are amnesiac clowns!

I have two thoughts. If what was happening to us was happening at UM, we'd be seeing it very differently.

Second, we can choose to NOT hear them. Put on the game and listen to the commentary on WBNS or 1460thefan.com, whatever.

Actually, they've made their point and Herbie isn't likely to carry out such an attack, so perhaps that was the major burst. Yep, great journalism. Really an unbiased look that helps us understand sporting events of the day!
