Most idiotic going away speech

RugbyBuck

Our church has no bells.
My wife's and mother-in-law's high priest, Tom Brokaw, officially signed off last night capping a 20+ year career with this sage wisdom: [drumroll] [wait for it]

"It's not the questions that get us in trouble. It's the answers."

I don't think I've ever heard a more vacuous remark from any hack sports radio geek, or anyone, for that matter. Thank you, Tom, for the Xmas present - proving what I've been saying for years as my wife (generally, an exceptionally intelligent and reasonable woman) and the devil from whence she came have thrown themselves down and genuflected before your, ehem, brilliance. You and your buddy Dan and even Peter, the lesser of network anchor evils, have been completely irrelevant for years. Thanks again. Best wishes in retirement.

I'm not sure if any of those clowns even have a college degree. I'm pretty sure jennings doesn't, but I could be wrong.

It's hilarious how many morons bought books like "Greatest Generation." yeah, I see this guy on TV, so he must write good books. :slappy:

Brokaw is the best of the bunch by a landslide. While I worship no mortal man, Brokaw consistently delivered the best 1/2 hour program out of the big 3. His delivery is smooth and effortless...

When he was on HARDBALL w/ Chris Matthews - he was funny as hell. A side you don't get to see often when he was plopped in front of us telling all the latest worries of the day.

I don't watch newscasts much these days.... Is there any positive news reported anymore? Maybe on America's Most Wanted when they capture fugitives.. ha ha... but that isn't a news show.

I for one will miss Tom Brokaw.... I thought he excelled.

I really don't know, Thump. It's so brilliantly idiotic that I'm sure I've missed the meaning somehow. Didn't someone edit the comments? It had to be on a teleprompter. He may as well have said, "I'm a moron. Thaank youu, goodnaught."

My favorite going away speech is when Scarface quits his job in Half Baked.

I saw it too...I had absolutely no idea what the hell he was talking about, either. Still, at least he isn't an obsessed actor like Rather, and at least he let the network groom a replacement before he left.
