Most ovverrated player in college football

THANK YOU SCUMBUSTER!!

Matt Grootegoed is a product of the USC hype machine. I watched USC play 4 times this year and couldn't believe how the commentators were hyping this guy.

He couldn't hold AJ's jock
Absofuckinglutely! He wasn't even the best linebacker on his team in my opinion. I think Tatupu was better. Either way neither are close to AJ Hawk. This will be shown in the NFL draft....next year!

No way is Bush overrated. However, he is not Heisman material.
agreed my thoughts exactly, I dont think he deserves it this year, but he'll have a bright future in the NFL and there aren't too many ppl right now in college football that I would take over Bush.

I doubt Greene looks any worse to us than Krenzel looked to most non-bucks.

Sproles was the most disappointing in terms of his season, but I don't think it is his fault (like a Chad Henne vs. OSU, despite the pressure, he couldn't step up for his team). If you put Sproles on USC he'd be in NYC right now if he were switched with Bush. Bush may have done a little better, but only a little. It's hard to be a smaller playmaker if you have no passing or o-line.

I despise Benson. He deserves to be ignored for his heisman comment. But his situation would be like Pittman putting up those kind of numbers had we never brought Ginn in nor Smith. We had no balance and even if the blockers blocked well there were too many people looking for the predictable running from tressel. I respect his performance a lot this season. But I'm glad he's home watching the heisman show.

Most disappointing would have to be Kyle Orton. He was not supposed to be amazing, but seemed to be a tough favorite for the Heisman after trashing easy school after easy school. Then the guy just disappeared. It doesn't matter that he put his team in positions to win games, he gave up multiple game-losing fumbles. He has to get my vote for most overrated (without any stipulation about when they were first overrated).

As for overrated Buckeyes, I'd go with EJ underwood. At least he's overrated here because of all the hype CSUskeeter gave him.
Can't blame anyone for overhyping EJ he has perfect corner hips and great technique with good enough speed to be a star, he just hasn't panned out yet. I think he still has a good chance to be another great buckeye coner

David Pollack is by far most overrated player in football. He has been living on his sophmore stats the last 2 seasons. I don't know how the hell he could have won the Lombardi and Bednarik. He didn't do anything last year or this year in the games I watched. Will Smith was twice the player Pollack is.

thanks for the input, enjoyed it, the reason was spurred by espnnews anchor something kim, who said he had a legit shot at 3 trophies, i missed the usc-und game i was up in canton and only saw one game of his early and the year and was unimpressed

I wish he'd display those CB hips and technique, the ones Duane Long loves to brag about, to everyone else. I've never watched a practice but to me they look like hell in games...

By FAR it is Jason White.. I think he may just be the worst Heisman Trophy winner ever... and it is pathetic that he has any chance to win it again...
While I'm not a Jason White supporter, to say he may be the worst Heisman trophy winner ever is way off base. He ended up with 40 TD's and 10 Int's last year, even with his 2 bad games at the end.

Gino Torretta ('92) and Gary Beban ('67) were far worse choices than White or Crouch, who was a very effective runner with poor passing stats.

Reggie Bush is soooooooo good. I think he's got the numbers to be a finalist for the Heisman... but I don't think he should win it.

Braylon Edwards anyone? Drops more balls than Paris Hilton fondles...
