Sexy Beast was brilliant, so I agree, if you haven't seen it, go rent it now.

Two of my favorite under-the-radar flicks that immediately come to mind are:

Bound - The Wachowski Bros. first film. Everything about this movie is superb, the editing, camera angles, storytelling, dialog ... it's all just awesome. The lesbian sex scene with Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly is a bonus.

Irreversible - Italian film starring Monica Bellucci, very disturbing and powerful if you can stomach the violence. Backwards storytelling is crucial to the power of the film, but is kind of off-putting now since it's been done in so many other films.

Millers Crossing- Awesome Coen Brothers Gangster Flick
City of God- It has subtitles, but still a great movie
Beautiful Girls- Great movie that I avoided seeing for a couple years as I thought it was going to be a chick flick
Delicatessen- Hilarious French movie involving cannibalism

Cannibal, the Musical

Goes in the 'stupid humor' category.
Early work by the creators of South Park. Cartman's voice even puts in a cameo. Watch while your humor gland has been stimulated by the chemical of your choice (although sleep deprivation works quite well :) )
