Cam Akers (RB Los Angeles Rams)

I think both would work great in this offense. I really hope the staff can convince both to be in the class
That's my thoughts. Really want both and don't feel greedy saying as much. Bama, USC, and others have often taken multiple RBs in one class. It's just far too important of a position to not cover your bases. What would scare me is a kid de-committing because of it. Especially if they plan to play for Urban Meyer who only wants guys who are willing to compete. It's not that I would blame Dobbins per se and label him 'weak sauce' as much as I would be impressed by Akers commitment with the Sparq champ already in the class. It would tell me the same thing about Akers as Emory Jones commitment did. EJ just stepped up and showed out at FNL and followed up with a solid verbal. That speaks volumes.

The name of the game is competing. I don't think Can is even worried about a rating in shorts and t shirts. The Sparq rating and The Opening in general I'd pretty overrated, IMO. Mike Mitchell blew up the camp and where is he now? RB is a position that can go from surplus to depleted in a blink of an eye, USC and Bama also dealt with that as well

The more I watch Cam, the more I change my mind on preferring Dobbins. I think part of it is the fact that Dobbins is already committed but any more, I think I prefer Akers and if that means Dobbins leaves (which I would still be sad to see,) I can live with that.

I think what's so exciting about Akers is he looks so much like Zeke stylistically when he runs the ball...but from a physique standpoint, he already looks like Zeke did as a JR in college, yet Akers is a SR in high school.

I think I like the more physical RB's in this offense. It protects the QB's by not having them have to run inside much. I really like Dobbins, but I love Akers! Hopefully we can land both.

All this time I've thought of Dobbins and Akers as a "thunder and lightning" but Akers has quite a bit of lightning and an excellent skill set that could thrive here. Very high on this kid, should be a unanimous 5 star.
