Musings in the Gwaltney thread

theres hope but i wouldnt hold my breath on gwaltney- my money is on sc. we've been burned many times by out of state guys near or during signing day, and jg seems like one of those kids who changes his mind every hour, so hes really unpredictable.

Like it or not you have to give Pete credit. Whatever Pete wants Pete gets.

I'm pretty sure Pete wanted Ted Ginn, and he didn't get him.

The amount of energy people spend agonizing over the decisions of kids - usually based on hearsay four or five times removed - amazes me.

Just let me know who signs with tOSU on signing day...

With the Wstripes comment, it's probaly time to close the chapter on the GW-OSU recuitment. But I hope he's wrong. Losing GW won't be as bothersome as losing McCoy, my expectations have always been lower for GW.

Let's hope Wilson becomes a buck. That would be a good enough finish for me.

Guys, we cannot continue to hijack these player threads. Your feelings about BN are valid thoughts, but this is not the thread for them. I've moved a number of them to Inter-Forum. Also, let's lay off the negativity. If you still have doubts about recruits reading these threads, check out Gary H's article.

Edit: We are all aware of JG and BSB. There is a thread discussing it in the Open Discussion Forum.
sorry about that, grad.

Hey my bad about bringing the whole JG/BSB thing up on here. I forgot about the Open Discussion on here.

Who did USC land at the game? The only guy I remember committing to them was Rey Mauluga. We got Wells. They had Sanchez and Kevin Thomas, we had Jamario and Boone. I think it's even, no?
True statement, my bad on that, but I guess if you look at recent commits, USC outnumbers us. Not a bad thing because we still outnumber them, but if JG is stating he recruited some guys to go there, it just makes me think more recent guys, since we landed most of our guys before we were even in on JG. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm just trying to make logic of his quote...

Add Duane to that also. They also said if you asked the staff what the biggest surprise of the recruiting season was, they would say losing McCoy and that HH was basically right on target...however, they are so confident in JG right now, he would be a major surprise also if he went elsewhere.

Goof, not a thing bro. Just trying to keep this thing on JG
Where are you getting this information. I would be much appreciative if you could let me know... thank you.

Feb 1st huh?

The three highest ranking threads - both posts and views - are the Taz, Wells and Gwaltney threads (in that order).

I am betting Gwaltney makes it to #1 easy.

I agree wholeheartedly with wstripes.

No offense at all to Jason, but I think this kid is absolutely loving all the attention he's getting at the moment and will milk the suspense for all it is worth. I probably would too if I were an 18 year-old from Babylon, Long Island.

I think he wants to play in Hollywood, period. And I am concerned that he's intentionally deceiving folks like HH, tOSU coaches and the BN mavens just to "keep hope alive" and pump-up the volume for his announcement press conference.

Every legitimate sign points to USC -- even his most recent little shot at the BuckNuts posters (which they doubtless deserved) -- and all the rest has been blue smoke and mirrors, personally orchestrated by Jason. I think Hollywood is where he wants to be and it seems like it's where he belongs. I'm just saddened to see such cynical manipulation coming from such an otherwise talented young man.

He's all your Stripes.

MegaWoody, it is totally fine to believe that Gwaltney is not coming to play in Columbus. However, I take offense to the suggestion that Gwaltney is manipulating the fans and the coaching staff. Where is the factual basis behind this claim? I highly doubt that Stripes has anything to back up this claim either. While it is a possibility, let's not treat this particular possibility as if though it's a foregone conclusion.
