My Kid Got in Trouble In School

Gatorubet

Loathing All Things Georgia
A couple week's ago. Not bringing guns to school bad, or finding a severed head in his locker bad, but enough that he got sent home for a few days bad.

Anyway, I go in to see the Dean of Students, and I knew I was in trouble...

He had this on his wall:

I knew the Ubets were in for a hard time. One of the Art students made it for him because he was a fan of some team.

So I took a pic with my phone.

Reminds of a time when I was visiting stores in Omaha, NE with our VP-Marketing. Well he gets a call and his kid is in trouble at the local high school. So I drop the VP at the front of the school and park in the visitor's lot. About 45 minutes later he plops in the seat and I ask him what did Jon (his son) do? "He got into a fight..."
"Well you don't seem to upset about it, so what gives?" "I can't be too mad at the kid because he was defending the honor of the Big Ten vs. the Big Twelve!!"

You have to remember here we are two Big Ten guys in enemy territory and his son takes one for the team....Classic....I don't think he even got grounded at home....

Wonder how that "Big XII is GREEEAAATTT" kid feels right about now? Especially after we didn't even win our division this year.

Tangentially related, but I gotta ask: are there many B1G fans in Nawlins, ubet?
Until recently my back fence neighbor was a Buckeye fan. (He still is, he just moved  )

Lots of B1G fans. tOSU and co. are big institutions with lots of alumni everywhere.

I made myself proud today. While in a full red-faced scolding of my girlfriend's kid for bad grades, skipping school, and all around douchbaggery and dickheadedness, I was able to use the following movie quote; "We will be so happy we will be whistling Dixie from our assholes" when describing our feelings if/when he gets his shit together regarding school. I have to admit, I nearly laughed as it was passing from my mouth. Thankfully I did not break into laughter as that would have really destroyed the general tenor of my rant...

That painting is like an awful mix of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" and Van Gogh's "Starry Night." Not bad, but lacking stylistic direction.
