I honestly thought the last two years were going to be the last real window in Ovechkin's prime. My expectations going in were a seven game win against Columbus then a five game loss to Pittsburgh. After the second game against CBJ I thought they were done.

Won four straight against the Blue Jackets.
Finally, fucking FINALLY beat the Fighting Pierre McGuires in six.
Beat the best team in the East and highest scoring team in the league in seven, getting shutouts from a goalie that was terrible during the regular season and lost his job in the last two games.

Now they have their second shot at a cup against Marc Andre Fuckface, Elbows McNeal, and the GM that thought trading Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat was a good idea.

I'm psychologically prepared for the most embarrassing loss imaginable but I'm hopeful that Ovi skullfucks these cunts and Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury split the award for Best On-air Aneurysm. Las Vegas shouldn't even exist.

Happy to see Ovechkin carrying the cup. Capitals earned this one, taking down one of the hottest young teams (CBJ), the back-to-back defending champs, arguably the best offensive teams in the league (TB), and the best inaugural season for an expansion team in NHL history. It’s taken Washington 44 years to finally capture the cup. I’m sure brighter days are ahead for teams like Columbus and Las Vegas.
