National Signing Day 2016: 4-star ATH Jordan Fuller signs with Ohio State

The New Jersey native is officially a Buckeye.
Another New Jersey defensive back is officially heading to Columbus to play for the Buckeyes After verbally committing to Ohio State on Monday over scholarship offers to Michigan, Notre Dame, and many other prestigious universities across the united states, four-star athlete Jordan Fuller has signed his letter of intent with OSU.
A standout at Old Tappan in Westwood, New Jersey, Fuller follows in the footsteps of fellow New Jersey natives, and former Ohio State standouts such as Malcolm Jenkins, and Eli Apple. Like his Garden State counterparts were in high school, the nearly 6'2, 200-pound, now Buckeye is rated among some of the top prospects in the country. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is considered the sixth athlete, and 130th overall prospect in the senior class.
Seeing time on both sides of the ball, Fuller played a key role in Old Tappan finishing last season with a 12-0 record, and a state championship title. Rarely leaving the field, he used he great speed and instincts to account for over 1,800 total yards, and nine touchdowns on offense, while snatching up 44 tackles, and a team leading six interceptions from his safety spot.
Even though he didn't play with any of his OSU classmates on the high school level, Fuller has already had a chance to suit up with some of his soon-to-be Ohio State teammates. Selected to play in U.S. Army All-American Bowl last month, Jordan, Austin Mack, Michael Jordan, Jonathon Cooper, Demario McCall, Jake Hausmann, Binjimen Victor, and the East squad fell to Drue Chrisman, and the West team, 37-9.
With a large defensive back class, and many underclassman on the Ohio State roster next season, Fuller, like most true freshman making the transition to college, has an uphill battle in front on him to see the field next season as a freshman, but with wholes to fill, and the special teams unit needing bodies, there is an opportunity for him pick up some minutes with a good summer camp.

Jordan Fuller is an all-around athlete who played quarterback in a read-option system in high school. Fuller stands at 6’1.5 and 196 pounds, which will most likely translate to the strong safety position at Ohio State.
Fuller is a fluid athlete who will excel in coverage, but will also bring physicality to the defense. He showed good instincts in pass coverage, breaking on routes and making plays on the football. Fuller also has the ability to come down into the box and make plays in run support.
Overall, the New Jersey product is a natural athlete who might be able to come in and compete for a special teams spot in year one, before eventually cracking the two-deep as a strong safety by his second year. Fuller was an excellent get for the Buckeye coaching staff, who can be used in the box and in coverage against tight ends or in the slot. - Christopher Jason
