The star QB is officially an Ohio State Buckeye.

Dwayne Haskins is officially an Ohio State Buckeye after he signed and faxed in his letter intent to Urban Meyer and the rest of the coaching staff. Haskins chose the Buckeyes after being committed to Maryland for nearly eight months and having other offers from Florida, Penn State, and LSU.

Haskins, a 6'3, 200-pound prospect, was a key get for Ohio State down the stretch in the 2016 recruiting cycle. He always had interest in Ohio State, growing up a fan, but things never seemed to click at the right time. However, one weekend in January changed it all as Haskins came in on an official visit and then soon after flipped to Ohio State. He was considered a plan-A for the Buckeyes and Haskins is a guy Urban Meyer has been chasing for a couple of years.

Haskins finished his high school career as one of the most heralded quarterback recruits in the entire country. He's rated the number seven pro-style QB and the number three rated player in the state of Maryland. In addition, 247Sports has him rated as the number 87 player in the nation.

Scouting report

"The one-time Maryland commit has shown great improvement over the course of his high school career. Dwayne Haskins has a long frame, standing at 6'3 and 198 pounds, which can be filled out. He is extremely athletic and is a true pass-first, dual-threat quarterback.

In the pocket, Dwayne Haskins possesses solid footwork, a quick, fluid release and once chaos hits, he does a great job of extending plays by using his legs. Once he chooses his target, he delivers a clean, accurate and catchable football that gives his receivers a chance to make a play on the ball.

Haskins is a rising talent who has the talent to make the majority of the throws in Meyer's offense. With J.T. Barrett, Joe Burrow and Stephen Collier on the quarterback depth chart, it will allow Haskins to redshirt and continue to improve. The Potomac, MD product looks like the real deal and Urban Meyer should feel comfortable about that position for a long period of time." - Christopher Jason
