BOOOOOOOOOM! The Buckeyes add another 2016 prospect to the fold.

The rich get richer. After landing commitments from four-star standouts Binjimen Victor, Dwayne Haskins, Keandre Jones, Rodjay Burns, and Jordan Fuller recently, the Ohio State class of 2016 has once again has added another elite senior prospect. Columbus Walnut Ridge jack-of-all-trades Malik Harrison will stay close to home in the capital city, and suit up in Ohio State's Scarlet and Gray.

Announcing his plans on National Signing Day, Harrison, who officially visited Ohio State not long ago, gives Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff another very versatile athlete on the roster. Indiana, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Michigan State, Iowa, Kentucky, and Pittsburgh are just some of the many programs who reportedly offered the 6'4, 215-pound, three-star prospect throughout the recruiting process.

Rated as the 50th athlete and 690th overall recruit in the class of 2016, per the 247Sports composite, Harrison has the skill set that could find him on either side of the ball on the college level. Lining up at numerous positions, including quarterback, wide receiver, and linebacker during his career at Walnut Ridge, Malik has made it clear he would love to stay on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver, while some have pegged him to make the move to defense full-time at either linebacker or safety.

Not only a leader on the gridiron for the Scots, Harrison is also one of top players on the Walnut Ridge basketball squad.

Scouting report

Harrison is a big (6’4, 215 pounds), strong athlete who has the skill set to play on either side of the ball at Ohio State. He may get a shot at wide receiver, but he will most likely play outside linebacker or strong safety. With the ball in his hands, Harrison showed good footwork for his size, which would translate to the defensive side of the ball. He is a physical player who could also turn into a key special teams player. The Columbus, OH native will need to settle into a position; however, he is a special athlete who could excel at multiple spots. A redshirt will be coming for Harrison, but once he is coached up at one position, he could make an impact. - Christopher Jason
