National Signing Day 2016: Michael Jordan could be Ohio State's biggest steal

Ohio State invaded a rival border to bring in a top offensive line talent, and he's already on campus.
Ohio State has a few openings on the offensive line this coming season. With the departures of Taylor Decker, Jacoby Boren, and Chase Farris, the Buckeyes will certainly have some new faces along the trenches this fall. With a stellar recruiting class in 2015, offensive linemen were not a huge priority for Urban Meyer in 2016, but when the right talent approaches, there's no doubt you take them. Insert Michael Jordan of Canton, Michigan and you have a top lineman in the 2016 class in favor of the Buckeyes. Certainly stealing a top prospect from your rival's state is always a cherry on top.
For Ohio State, the recruiting pursuit within Michigan's borders is strictly handled by coach Kerry Coombs. With Jordan, there was always the sense that the home state teams of Michigan and Michigan State would be the frontrunners to land Michael. However, Ohio State was also atop of Michael's list for his top schools. Fortunately for Ohio State, after successful visits from Kerry Coombs and Michael's comfort level at Ohio State, he decided to commit to the Buckeyes officially on May 7, 2015. Coombs is well deserving of the success in landing Michael in the fact that not only did they create a strong relationship, but both have Cincinnati, Ohio roots, leading to a stronger bond.
Knowing Michael's background, Ohio State was a major player in his recruitment because of their academic profile. Along with having a high regard for academics, Ohio State also offered the major area of education Jordan was interested in. The combination of academic success and a football program among the top of college football, Michael saw his opportunities were limitless in Columbus.
With the tremendous size that Jordan has (6'6, 305 pounds), he already has the frame of a college football player. To add to his stature, Michael is also an early enrollment prospect as of January 11, 2016. With this, Jordan can immediately begin working in the Ohio State strength program under Micky Marotti as well as compete in spring ball under the tutelage of Ed Warinner. The consensus 4-star prospect will certainly have the opportunity to crack the two-deep rotation on the offensive line if all goes well throughout spring ball and summer camp.
Scouting report
Michael Jordan is another early enrollee who has the potential to make his mark and possible challenge for a spot in the two-deep as a freshman. Jordan has great size at 6'5 ¾ and 305 pounds to play tackle at the collegiate level. Getting to Columbus early will allow him to get a head start at strengthening his body and put him into a position to compete in the spring.
As a run blocker, Jordan fires off low and delivers violent contact to his opponent. He does a good job of finishing his blocks and also shows off his athleticism by getting to the second level. As a pass protector, he will be able to fine tune his mechanics in college, but he does display a solid base and he uses his arms well.
The offensive line depth chart is up for grabs and Jordan will be given a chance to crack the two-deep, most likely at right tackle. - Christopher Jason
