As Wednesday approaches, the Buckeyes look to add some big names to their '16 class, which currently sits at 22 commitments & ranks 2nd best in the nation (composite ranking). Below is a list of several remaining targets & their scheduled announcement times:

Monday February 1st

Pennsylvania DB Damar Hamlin - 6pm ET (Pitt)
New Jersey DB Jordan Fuller - 7pm ET (OSU)

Wednesday February 3rd

Georgia ATH Mecole Hardman Jr. - 8:30am ET (OSU, UGA, Bama, Clemson, UF, Tenn, TTUN)
Virginia DB K'Von Wallace - 9:30am ET (OSU, Clemson, VT, Cincinnati)
Florida DB Carlos Becker - 9:30am ET (OSU, FSU)
Ohio ATH Malik Harrison - 10am ET (OSU, Wisconsin, Indiana)
JUCO OL Malcolm Pridgeon (OSU, Baylor)
JUCO DT Jamar King (OSU, Alabama, UCF)

This list is subject to change as the BPRT receives updates. Feel free to post your thoughts on the Buckeye class & keep up with the action as it unfolds leading up to and on the 3rd.

Harrison is in. Fuller is in. I have Hamlin to Pitt, Hardman to UGA and Becker to FSU. I'm going with King to Alabama. I think OSU lands one of Pridgeon or Wallace...just not sure which one at this point.

Some late smoke regarding Burns and Louisville...he even said he will be making a "final announcement" on NSD morning. If he's out, I think they green light Wallace, which would be fine by me.

Do we know Burns announcement time? how does it line up with Wallace's?

Burns has not given a specific time...

Some interesting research in this article:

3 debunked recruiting myths that prove Signing Day is crucial

Myth No. 1: It doesn’t matter where a team ends up in recruiting rankings.

Myth No. 2: Star rankings don’t matter

Myth No. 3: ‘Half these guys won’t end up doing anything’

1. He ends with a yes-no thing. I mean. Obviously there's a big difference between 35 and 5. Rankings matter -- if you want NCs you need to consistently be in the top 10. And he concedes that point saying the difference is trivial. That said, his own data shows Clemson, Stanford, and MSU have won hardware outside top10 recruiting ... and the latter 2 outside the top20 with multiple Conference Championships.
So does it matter? Yes, especially at the Playoff / NC level. Does it matter as much as recruiting analysts insist it does? Well... that's another matter.

2. This is just an extension of #1 on a micro level. If 1 is partially true, it follows that 2 is true to a comparable extent.

3. This seems like a very generous definition of bust:
"Conversely, only seven of the 50 could be considered a “bust,” having never started a full season."
So Kalis isn't a bust because he was a starter... a glorified traffic cone on a really bad team. Hmmm.

Meant to post before the Fuller commitment but hey, after the ink dries this is going to be an outstanding class. My guess to finish out is: Harrison, Becker. Harrison is a given but the Becker call is a pipedream/guess. Usually Urban is good for one surprise on NLOID, so that is my guess. I think Burns goes back to Louisville and we upgrade at DB with Becker. Or at least I hope, Becker is a stud. In any event, just make sure the faxes come through on the guys already verbally committed and this class is one for the books no matter how we finish the last couple spots.

My dream finish is Harrison, Becker, and the JUCO OL. With Burns flipping. Nit because I have anything against him, but because he would need to flip in order to take those 3 and he's leaning/heavily thinking about flipping. Don't want him forced out.

What I'm expecting though is Harrison, JUCO OL (semi-bold prediction, but there is some minor rumblings), and 50/50 on Burns flipping. If he does flip, 50/50 on carrying the schollie to 17 or taking Wallace.

What I take from this is the 5 kings of doing the least with the most.
Champion: Texas
Runners up: Florida and USC
Honorable mention: LSU and Auburn

I'd put Texas A&M up there too.....with all the top end players Sumlin has brought in, he went 11-2 his first season but since then has lost at least 4 games the past 3 years.

So with Felder, Davis, Wint, Burns, and Fuller in the fold, is OSU done at DB? Are either Becker or Wallace still takes if either still wants in (big if)? I would think they're done. Opinions?

Looks like Burns might be sured up and I think Pridgeon is picking the Bucks tomorrow (obviously Harrison is in as well), so I am thinking there is no way we add another DB. I am REALLY high on Becker and had him as a surprise commit for tomorrow, but with Pridgeon trending our way I have to contradict myself here. I really hope we have room for Becker if he wants in, I just don't know where the spot would come from unless Burns is out...not sure if Becker is a guy "you take regardless" but I have him close to that threshold. As for Wallace, he is only in if Burns is out.
