NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

James Harden reminds me more of Carmelo Anthony every day - puts up big offensive numbers but his team goes nowhere.

Fans get excited, he makes big money, but he never actually wins anything. Toss Allen Iverson into that pool as well.
AI at least took his team to the finals. He also gave us soo many quotes

I rarely watch the NBA other than some playoff games, so it cracks me up when I see guys wearing crazy shit and spending hundreds to sit court side. Watching those "super fans" is usually more entertaining than the games.

The NBA has the best players, but they've managed to produce a product that is less entertaining than its parts - too many meaningless games, too much meaningless drama. If ever "less is more" applied it would apply to the NBA, for me. But it seems the younger generation eats this shit up.

Meh...they can sign wherever they want now. Is there something heroic about staying somewhere and never winning a ring? Only a fool would do that.

Did people really expect the Rockets to win?

One, they're the Rockets. Two, this is still the core of a GS team that went 73-9 and is better than any other in the league. And yet the announcers talk about it being an 'incredible' win.

Sorry, when you're missing Durant and still have 3 all nba players and a decent bench, that's a damn low bar for an 'incredible' or 'gutsy' win. Part of the reason why all the titles and wins are so hollow. Why should we expect anything else?

So called MVP is a fraud.
At least this time he didn’t play terrible. The problem is, he is the second best player on the floor before Durant got hurt, and then GS had players 3, 4, 5, and maybe 6. Paul is a has-been. Gordon is just OK and too streaky. Tucker is an elite competitor but an average player. And they’ve got nothing else.
