NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Other than the #4 pick, not sure that the Lakers really gave up all that much. Whatever Ball's long-term potential might be, getting rid of Lavar and the baggage is worth it, the other guys aren't difference makers, LeBron's window is short (taking the chance that it's not closed). and maybe AD lets them attract one more big FA. If LeBron gets hurt or something (distinct possibility given age) and they completely tank next year, then that pick is going to hurt a lot. but they might as well swing for the fences now. They'll presumably have plenty of money once LeBron's retired to put somebody with Davis. As for New Orleans., given their lack of leverage, they did great. Wonder if they'd think about dealing Ball and going after
Kemba Walker to lead a bunch of young guys?

So he gets 40M to rehab next year? Then he’s what, 31 coming off the most damaging modern day injury (achilles)?

Edit- turns 31 in September, so essentially 32 when he’ll play again. Guy is/was damn good. Otherwise yeah who cares. Kyrie is one psychedelic away from retiring and chasing aliens with Tom Delonge from Blink-182.

Just happy the NBA will maybe be open-ish now.
