NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Wow exactly what everyone knew was going to happen before the year even started, happened. What a boring ass league.
The Lakers were never at worse odds than +250 for the title until after the first round of the playoffs. +250 is implied odds of about 29%. If you knew they were going to win the title, you could have turned a nice profit. At different times over the course of time, the Clippers and Bucks both had shorter prices to win the 2021 NBA title compared with the Lakers.

It was not a season where one team dominated the league and was head and shoulders better than everyone else.

So James Harden got his wish and got dealt from Houston, who traded him to Brooklyn. I don't really like the move for Brooklyn because they gave up a ton of assets to get Harden. Plus, they shouldn't play Kyrie and Harden together very much because they both need the ball & could be a bad combo on D. I don't think the Nets defense will be particularly good - certainly they took a hit on that end with their trades. Ultimately, it is 2021 or bust for the Nets - they need to win the NBA this season, or this move will quickly unravel the franchise.

Steph Curry can shoot.

Just sayin': So can Wiggins, but Draymond Green goes 0-4, 5 fouls, 6 turnovers, just 2 points, and sticks his fingers in Lebron's eyes in a loss to the Lakers in the buy in game.

Of course some others think Lebron faked it:

CJ MCCOLLUM WENT VIRAL DESTROYING LEBRON JAMES AWARDING HIM THE ‘ACTOR OF THE YEAR’ AFTER FOUL BY DRAYMOND GREEN (TWEETS)

LeBron James will undoubtedly end his NBA career one day as one of the greatest players in league history, but he does have a knack for upsetting a ton of people for being as big as he is and flopping in unnecessary ways during games.

Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum is one of those people who had something to say after James was fouled by Draymond Green late in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 103-100 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Wednesday’s play-in tournament game.

Decided to try to watch some NBA playoffs.

This Heat/Bucks game is fun.

Note that Giannis gagged some FTs that probably coulda put the game away, and then proceeds to play ole defense on Butler allowing him to tie the game.
