Would have been a great bet:

When the NBA Finals ended last year, the early-bird Las Vegas line on winning the 2007-08 championship had the Los Angeles Lakers 50-to-1 and the Boston Celtics 300-to-1. The Celtics added Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen and made the biggest one-year improvement in league history (24-58 to 66-16). -- Rochester Democrat & Chronicle

I really see the Celtics winning this one...

Yes the Lakers have Kobe Bryant, who is going to be tough to defend for the Celtics, but they can throw Pierce, Allen, and Posey at him all series and give him different looks...They won't be able to double like they did LBJ or sag off him like they did LBJ as Kobe will hit the jumper and there are jump shooters around him...

I don't see Odom or Gasol having great series like they have so far...Garnett and Perkins are bigger and stronger than the guys they have seen so far other than Boozer...Duncan is a great player, but couldn't defend both of them himself...

I think Rando can give Fisher fits on the offensive end with his length and quickness...

But the main thing that I see is how do the Lakers defend all of the big 3...

Allen = Kobe probably...Which means Ray doesn't get a ton of points, but Kobe can't run with Allen all game or he will get tired on the offense end...

Pierce = Odom or Radmonovich...Neither one matches Pierce on the defensive end...He could have a big series...If he gets off they switch Kobe to him and then Allen can get off...

Rando = Fisher...If Rando plays with in himself and creates for his teammates he could be a difference maker in this series as Fisher can't match the quickness...

Garnett = Gasol or Odom...I think these guys can guard him but Garnett is good enough to get his points against anyone, and Pierce, Rando will be able to create for him too...

Off the bench the Celtics keep brining big bodies in the paint...With Powe, Big baby, PJ brown...

The Lakers really only go with Turiaf in the middle off the bench...

The Lakers bring the shooters, so the Celtics are going to have to score, but I think the have the match ups to score and the defense to hold LA down some...

I think it is going to be tough, but I go with the Celts in 7...

I think that the Zen master will know how to handle the Big 3.

Home court is the onltything saving Boston but don't hold your breath:wink:

The Beat LA chant in Boston might haunt them, because None, I mean None finals experience and cracking under presure is what Atl did to them and took it to Boston. Cleveland is supposed to be in the finals.

Compare LA and ATL/Cleveland and come back to me later on that.

Neither would Kobe if he played for the Bucks, Sonics, Wolves or Celtics the last 10 years.

But he doesn't, funny you can say that, but you can say that Robert Horry would have no rings if he played for Denver, but the reality is, he has 7. Don't knock it, doesn't Kobe have as many rings as everyone on this Celtics team? Or does he have 1 more?

The same people that were saying that and calling Boston frauds were also saying that Boston was going to get whipped on by Detroit who had been sitting at home and waiting on the Celtics...See where that got them...

I am curious to hear some suggestion on how to handle the big 3...Honestly I think that the Cavs matched up better defensively against the Celtics than the Lakers...

I grew up watching this series unfold the way it has. I am 39 not mid 20's so I know the History and the Hatred(tsun vs tosu). Boston is a dayum good team and it's going to be a great finals but LA prevails. I hate to burst the bubble but Fuck Boston, Larry bird, kevin Mchale, Bill Walton, DJ and the list goes on over the years.
