NBA Finals - Celtics vs. Lakers

Odom and Gasol (no shows), which makes Kobe throw up all kinds of his only shots, threes.

It's going to be a long summer for the LA Lakers.

I don't know about that. A year ago, Kobe was asking for a trade. No one thought the Lakers would be playing tonight when the season began. They're young, and Bynum will be back. There's reason to believe they'll contend for the next few years.

Conversely, the time is now for Boston. They traded youth for the two big vets and they have to win this title to justify it.

I don't know if I'd use the word "content" but the Lakers' youth is definitely showing tonight. Kobe has been there, done that, Fisher was there too but he's a role player. The other Lakers are mostly young guys, versus three VERY hungry Celtics for whom this is the moment they have waited a decade or more to reach and they're leaving it all on the floor.

I said back when the trades were made (on another message board) that the ONLY way the Celts trades would be worth the future they dealt away would be if they won a title. They're 24 minutes away from making Ainge look like a genius...but their work isn't finished yet.

No time to let up...beat LA!

Yeah, the Celtics did the same thing LA did in 2004, they grabbed a collection of older superstars and tossed it together. Rivers has done well keeping the egos under control, something that destroyed the LA 2004 team.

Rondo has more offensive rebounds than the entire Laker team?

that's what happens when you send the entire team to blockout KG and Kendrick Perkins on every shot because you don't have the bigs to do it themselves.

LA was decimated by the fact that they didn't have another big to play. They couldn't handle Bostons' beef.

Lamar Odom can get away with being a 4 in the west, not in the east. Different style, different game.

Signs point to the Celtics IMO...

Homecourt...
3 stars vs 2 stars...
Bench...
Great Defense...
Everyone talking up the Lakers...
I think more athletic...
Vegas has Celts as 2.5 pt favorite...

The Lakers have the shooters and have Kobe and Gasol...I am not saying this is a sweep for the Celts or anything, just like the Celts more than the Lakers...

Just curious if anyone wants to disagree with these points anymore...

Sorry had to do it OC...:tongue2:

It is always great to talk some basketball with ya tho...

Will be interesting to see how the ratings came out for this series...I think they should be pretty solid...I am thinking some where in the 13 range...The Cavs/Celts game 7 was almost 9...

Really?

He's playing like the Energizer bunny tonight. He still can't shoot straight but he's causing LA a lot of problems with his quickness.
