A fourth contender for Scott

By Phil Kornblut
bilde

For most of the summer RB Derrell Scott of Havelock, NC has had USC, Ohio State and Florida State as his top three. But his coach said Tuesday night NC State has become a major player for Scott. "They've done a great job recruiting him and he's always liked them," Jim Bob Bryant said. "Their running backs coach has done a great job recruiting him." Scott will visit NC State in the next couple of weeks according to Bryant. He went to Ohio State for a camp and also visited Florida State this summer. His coach does not expect him to be able to make USC's camp this month. Scott will take all of his official visits and probably have a decision after his season. "Those four are his top four and those are the guys that have the best shot at him," Bryant said.

Wolfpack makes a move Scott

By Phil Kornblut

RB Derrell Scott of Havelock, NC continues to sit with a top four of USC, NC State, Florida State and Ohio State. At the end of July Scott said USC and Florida State were out in front of the others. But another school has moved up on his list in recent weeks. "He visited NC State a couple of weeks ago and they've moved up high on his list," said Scott's coach Jim Bob Bryant. "They've done a great job recruiting him." Bryant said Scott will set official visits with his four favorites. Scott will not make it to USC for the North Carolina game because he has a game of his own against a big rival the next night. The coach said Scott has not said anything to him about a clear cut favorite.

In his interview with 11w back in June he said he wants to decide after his season. Have to think that improves our chances with recruits who are holding out for committing so they can see us hopefully run the table. In the same interview he said he would take a official to TOSU with his family. Really, really like this young man.

I'm a big fan of Scott's as well, but Osu is a very very long shot. And our current depth doesn't help us much with him. I know urban will play the best, but it can't look well to a recruit when he sees 5 quality guys at his same position.
