NCAA 2005 - Buckeye Starters

I know what you mean. I normally name most of the Big10 teams and simulate all of the games (except scUM) for 4-5 years until all players are named.

Not sure I'll be able to pass on using Troy Smith in the game. Mobile QBs are deadly, and 80 speed for one is just sick. The problem there is I have a hard time not playing in the game with the depth chart on the real field.
Smith ratings look pretty nice, but I thought that he'd get an 85 SPD rating or so. Not many teams have KRs that are slower than around 85.

looks like they still have guilford in there.
I think I saw in a video that they also have Izzy. I'll have to think of a way to change those guys to other players. At least we can change their positions and ratings to match other same-class players that were left off of the default roster. That's probably what I'll do.

Anybody else realize how awesome the SPD ratings are for our DEs. That's some crazy speed to have 3 guys at 76.

Unfortunately for me, some mild form of OCD (I say this almost entirely jokingly) compels Vince and I to name all the teams in the game. This will be our 4th or 5th year doing it. The upside is we come away with pretty intimate personnel knowledge about all the teams.

I know more about guys like Loliki Bongo-Wanga than I probably should.

I think that this is to keep the cheesers from gaining too much of an advantage, by having QB's that can outrun everyone, but DB's.
C 55 - 88
This is much better than the slap in the face that Mangold got in his ratings last year, despite a strong showing in the Fiesta Bowl as a freshman.

 If you wait about week, others will release the rosters via Action Replay and you can just download it(I think I read where you have an AR.)

Word! It's nice that he and Sims both got some props.

FWIW, EA gave Willie Williams 87 SPD! The flipside of it was that his composure was a single bar :tongue2: .

I'm not sure how TG2 only has on OVR of 78. They made WW above 80 and the RB for OU is an 84 OVR. I would have thought that TG2 would be 82-85 OVR.

On last years game I used Smith all the time and was deadly with him only having 65 speed. His speed is now 80 and his other attributes are better as well This is going to get ugly.

My other area's of deadliness were kickoff and punt returns. I used Carter a lot because he had 95 speed but now Ginn is 97 and Fox is 98, are you kiddin me ? I will have Ginn as my 3rd reciever and he will be returning all kicks. I may have Fox back there as well, depending on how elusive they make him.

I'm stoked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EB said they'll be calling around mid afternoon on monday so I'll see yawl online tommorrow night !

[RANT]One other thing that bugs me with the RB ratings (OK, I don't have the game yet and I'm already nitpicking, lol) is that Pittman's AWR is lower than Haws. I think that the players that enroll early should have a slight edge in that department, especially when he racked up 125 yards in the spring game. Also, while I'm very pleased that they gave Haw a 93 SPD, I felt as though Pittman would be between 90-92. He's only a tenth of a second slower.

I'm also disappointed that they don't have Lyons in the game. He seems to be the most physically-freakish Frosh (say that 5 times really fast) and I was looking forward to trying him at WR/DB. Oh well, maybe I'll edit Dukes to him.[/RANT]

Haw's gonna be a beast in a few years of dynasty mode.

Anyone else considering moving Roy Hall to TE? With his size and speed, I'm certainly tempted, especially since I'm already thinking about putting TG2 at WR. He could be the next "soldier," only more sane.

there is actually a new feature in this game where you can move players to different positions and they tell you what their ratings will change to before you do it. very cool IMO

This is exactly what I'm referring to. In addition to the expanded rosters, these are the 2 greatest advancements this year, IMO. Hall's got 88 SPD and 65 STR, if his blocking is good (50+) then I might seriously consider it. I'll have to wait and see how fast they made Hamby, Nicol, and Hoobler. It seems as though they are each rated highly as well.

anyone know whitners speed?
No clue yet. They gave him a 92 last year as a CB, so I hope they left it the same. I hope to know later today though :) . I do know that he's an 85 OVR.

I don't know what to do with Irizarry, but I think I've decided that Ira Guilford will be changed to Dennis Kennedy. He deserves a spot.

Troy Smith w/ 80 speed will be hard to pass up. I absolutely kill my friends w/ running QBs because the sell out rushing the edges.
