NCAA Football 10 (PS3) BP Super Conference

IronBuckI

Calmer than you are.
RULES & SETTINGS

  1. This league has begun, and is currently filled to capacity.
  2. 7 minute quarters with slightly altered All-American sliders.
  3. This Dynasty will advance every Sunday night.
  4. This is a wide open gameplay dynasty. The goal is to find out who is the best at the game. If the playbook and sub-package allows it, then you may use it, but don't do anything stupid. Doing something stupid includes, but is not limited to, going for every 4th down, regardless of distance and situation. Be realistic when you go for it on 4th down. Don't run the WR at QB sub for the majority of the game. That's just not realistic. Running a "wildcat" for a small percentage of your offensive plays is realistic.
  5. Depth Chart Restrictions -
    • There shall be no player with 90+ speed that can be listed in your FB or TE depth chart unless that is their original position. Example: Jonathan Dwyer FB, Georgia Tech has 93 speed, and would be allowed to stay on the depth chart at FB if Georgia Tech were a human controlled team. If a FB or TE recruit with greater than 90 speed is signed by one of the teams in this dynasty, then they will be allowed to stay at their "natural" position.
    • For the purpose of position changes during the offseason a player must weigh at least 220lbs to be switched to FB (along with a speed less than 90). For a switch to TE, the player must be at least 230lbs or 6'4 tall. That means if a player is not 230lbs, he must at least be 6'4, and if he isn't 6'4 he has to weigh more than 230lbs (along with a speed of less than 90). If you have a player that weighs more than 225 lbs AND they have STR of 75+, they will be allowed to play FB, regardless of how fast they are. If you have a player that is 6'4" AND weighs more than 230 lbs AND has STR of 75+, they will be allowed to play TE, regardless of speed. I may grant a position or depth chart change to those positions if the guy has 74 STR and 92 speed, if there is some other attribute that makes them a reasonable candidate for that position, but the height, weight and strength requirements are a good guide to go by, IMO.
    • Basically, no weak, fast, midgets are allowed to play at either FB or TE.
  6. If someone chooses to drop out of the league we will try to replace said player if we have a waiting list. Any new player must choose the team that was vacated by the departing player.
  7. Out Of Conference Schedule. Every team has 5 OOC games. I will schedule each team to have 3 home games and 2 road games. I will attempt to make one of the home games a mid-late season rivalry game. One of the road games will also be a rivalry game. The other 3 OOC opponents will change yearly. I will schedule those games using the input of the player being scheduled.
  8. Conditional Playoff System
    • Scenarios:
      1. If there is an undefeated team in the "Big East" Super Conference, and that team makes the NCG against a CPU controlled opponent, then that team will be considered the champion, and no playoff will be necessary. Bowl games will be played as they are and a Dynasty Champion will be named after the bowls are over.
      2. If there is an undefeated team in the Big East, and only 1 one-loss team in the Big East, and the game puts both teams in the National Championship Game, then the winner of the NCG will be crowned the Dynasty Champion.
      3. If there are 2 one-loss (no undefeated teams) teams in the Big East and only one or neither team makes the NCG, then an alternate dynasty will be created to make the NCG into a Dynasty Championship game.
        • All Bowl games will be played normally, in the main dynasty, and everyone will get credit for Bowl game wins, but not for Dynasty Championships
        • After the bowl season is over, the Dynasty Championship game will be played during the offseason of the main dynasty, and the winner will be crowned Dynasty Champion. That way we don't have to slow down the progression of the main dynasty in order to crown a champion.
      4. If there are 3 or 4 teams bunched at the top of the dynasty, then a four team playoff will be setup by either using the NCG site for all playoff games, or by replaying regular season matchups with homefield advantage turned off.
        • If there were 3 one-loss teams and 1 two or three loss team, then the 2 or 3 loss team just won the lottery and made the four team playoff.
      5. If there are more than four teams with 2 losses or more, and no clear winner, top 2, or even top 4, then an 8 team playoff will be played by replaying regular season matchups with homefield advantage turned off.
    • Note: Drunken Clown will run the playoff dynasty in the event that scenarios 3-5 happen. That way I don't have to take this one offline, and we can continue progressing as the playoffs are being played.

Took this offline to see the schedule

Week 1 showdown:
Tim Tebow vs USC

Great scheduling EA. Oh well I guess, I will be out of town until Wednesday night basebuck, home every night there after...

edit: also, should we come up with the scoring system now in terms of how we are going to determine an overall winner for the two leagues combined? Or does nobody really care about that?

Maybe they thought that Cincinnati and Rutgers would be a decent matchup to start the season. 1 loss isn't going to kill either one of these teams chances at a National title. I've had several sims where an undefeated Big East team is playing a 2-loss Big East team in the NCG.

I think that a win percentage * 10 would be a better way to weigh human vs. human record, rather than just raw numbers of wins. Other than that, I haven't given it much thought.

I didn't need your spreadsheet to tell me that you were the strongest player last year. I don't know if I'll need one to tell me who's the strongest this year or not. :tongue2:

I've added all of the rivals that I know about above each of your schedules. I will schedule each player two OOC rivalry games each season. One at home and one on the road. The road game will always be early in the season. The home game will be sometime between weeks 7 and 14 in order to give everyone a home rivalry gimme for recruiting visits. Well...hopefully it's a gimme. If players want to schedule visits for their in-conference rivalry games, then that's their risk to take. The number of OOC rivalry games will remain even for everyone.

LSU's rivals are Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, and Tulane? Great. Any chance I can get a couple of these?
Well yes. It will be exactly a couple of those. :tongue2:

Schedules have been posted. It wasn't as easy getting late season home rivalry games scheduled as I had hoped it would be. If you don't have an OOC rivalry game after week 6, that's because there wasn't one available. For those of you that this happened to, I scheduled a high profile mid-late season home game for recruiting purposes. If you'd rather have a guaranteed win, then let me know.

If anyone wants their three OOC non-rivalry games to be easier or harder, then let me know.

OOC rivalry games will remain as one home and one away.

Actually... the earlier the rival game the better :sneaky:

Week 2 or 3 rivalry games never did anything for me. Making Louisville a uselessly scheduled rivalry game. It was always my conference game against Tennessee that helped me out the most. If scheduling the games earlier is better though, I'll just do that, and try to get random home games inserted into the heart of everyone's schedule.

You sunuvabitch.

BTW Piney, the need to go back a couple of times and make sure that the cpu didn't change home vs. away still exists. I had to go back and change an "at" to a "vs" or a "vs" to an "at" for every single player
