NCAA Football (PS3) Promotion/Relegation Online Dynasty

IronBuckI

Calmer than you are.
website: http://www.easports.com/dynasty/?dyid=36626

Access is invitation only.

This OD will be for players that like to build their teams from nothing and turn them into a powerhouse.

Settings: (Subject to change):
7 Minute Quarters
All-American Setting
Default Sliders
Coaching Carousel: On
Home Field Advantage: Off
Icing the Kicker: Off
Injuries: On
Fatigue: On
Penalties: Default
Speed: Lowered to 40 to start. I'll change it if I have to.

Choosing your team

  • Teambuilder teams will be allowed, and are encouraged. Teambuilder will be necessary going forward into later versions anyway.
  • All users will start out in the lowest tier of conferences with teams rated D+ or lower. There are currently nine(9) eligible teams. Spreadsheet of eligible schools, Ratings, School Prestige, and Program Info
  • All teams will start out with 1* School Prestige. If you pick a D+, or lower, rated team that is 2*s, then you must create a Teambuilder team and lower the School Prestige to 1*
  • If teambuilder is used, the user may use the roster of any of the eligible schools. If two users want to use that roster, then they can.
  • If teambuilder is used, then the TB team must have the exact program info of the eiligible school that you're going to displace.
Promotion and Relegation System

  • Spreadsheet to the NCAA 12 Conference Hierarchy.
  • All teams will start out in the lowest prestige conference, with 1* prestige schools.
  • In order to be eligible for promotion, a team must win their conference or win a BCS Bowl.[sup]1[/sup]
  • Last place teams from each conference will be relegated to the next lowest prestige conference.
Scheduling
  • Users may only play teams from conferences two levels above or two levels below them.[sup]2[/sup]
  • Users will always have one and only one non-conference rivalry game. That rivalry game will always be a home game. I will make an effort to keep rivals out of a users conference, in order to preserve the recruiting tool of a rivalry home game.
Personnel
  • I am not going to limit what you can do with your rosters...yet. EA has given us a very limited depth chart, with minimums for each position that must be filled, regardless of whether your system uses that position or not.
    • Be reasonable. If you run a traditional offense, then go with traditional players at their traditional positions. If you run a pass happy, 4 or 5-wide offense, then you can utilize the TE position to add depth to your WR corps. I run flexbone, and my main ball carrier is called a fullback by EA. A flexbone B-back is not a conventional fullback. I will move EA's definition of half-backs to the fullback position in an attempt to have my best runner at the position that runs the most. However, I'm not going to move a 96 speed HB with no STR, BTK, or TRK skills to B-back. Those players are best suited for the A-back/slotback position.
    • If you're wondering if a position change or depth chart setup is reasonable, then ask me. There's a pretty good chance that I'll have no problem with it.
[sup]1[/sup] ANY TEAM THAT MAKES THE NCG WILL AUTOMATICALLY WIN PROMOTION FOR THE FOLLOWING SEASON.
[sup]2[/sup]One rival team will always be on a users schedule, regardless of conference disparity.

Count me in. I must get creative with my team. The Upstate Patriots cannot afford the upkeep on the stadium. I will have to go interview for jobs before choosing my color and uniform schemes.

The PCU Whooping Cranes play in an 80,000 seat dome stadium. I just rent the place though. So upkeep isn't a problem. :wink2:

Right now, I'm going to use either Rice's roster, or Buffalo's. If I use Rice, my 3rd string TE will be moved to 2nd string QB on my depth chart. He has 84 THP, 68 THA, and is a better athlete for running the option. The only reason I don't make him my starter is because I have a RS Sr that might be adequate in my offense. The rest of the QBs on the roster are garbage, regardless of offensive philosophy. I'll also have Sam McGuffie on my team, and, really, who could pass up that opportunity.

BTW, I am using the gamingtailgate rosters. Those rosters are only the default rosters with names, and don't have anything else changed on them. The only thing that I changed is I made Urban Meyer the head coach at The Ohio State University, and, until I see otherwise, I made their playbook be the Mississippi State/Dan Mullens playbook.

I'm assuming that Olaf is going to stay in PA, and Fanatic is going to stay in S. Carolina, but you both can choose wherever you want your schools to be located. I just need to know, so I can choose where my school is going to be located. I also need to know which roster each of you is going to use.

I'm staying in PA. On another note, I've started a new Ohio State offline dynasty, complete with the Urbanator. I'm using Iowa State's playbook. Zach Boren, I hardly knew you.

What roster, and what program info are you going to use? I'm going to replace Buffalo with West Chester, but that doesn't mean that you have to use anything from Buffalo. It just means that your rival will be either Syracuse or Temple. It will likely be Syracuse, because that's who is listed first on your rivals list.

I will stay in SC. I really don't care what roster. Give me whatever team you don't choose IBI.
You can choose any roster, and any program info. Memphis makes the most sense for a team in South Carolina, because most of their roster will be from that region. Their roster is pretty terrible though, so I'm leaving roster selection up to the individual users.

I've changed my mind, and I'm going to use UNLV for everything except school prestige (I'll have to lower school prestige to 1*). I'm also going to move PCU from NY to CA, so we're not all stuck in the same conference year after year, and so my recruiting pipelines actually make sense.
