NCAA - slowly ruining football (rules changes - merged)

It makes a lot of sense to tie two completely separate ideas together and make it both or none. Allow me to list the ways how it makes sense:

Pretty reflective of how our Fed govt works. Pork everywhere! Murtha from your state was the king of pork. Hated the way that guy porked it up year after year.

This is why many states, but not, alas, Congress, have a single subject rule for legislation.

I'm guessing (haven't read) he's an Ole Miss grad if he graduated at all.

edit:
Lamar earned an undergraduate degree in business with emphasis in real estate and management at Ole Miss where he played for the Rebels' football team.

Looks like it would impose timelines on infractions rulings and notification, I could get behind that if they give them subpoena power

Well, what a colossal waste of money that would be. Count me as in favor of it for skunk bear, then.

So, Jimmy.... you find any diamonds in the rough over there in Europe on that three quarters of a million bucks we spent?

Nope. Seems they think soccer is football over there. Pass the milk.

an official announcement is coming next week, but from what I hear, it has nothing to do with recruiting or camps. More of an experience for current players to study abroad. Should be interesting to hear about when they can formally talk about it.

It's NOT study abroad! How much studying can they do in a week? Call it what it is, a free European vacation for the foosball players.

No more 5:00 am workouts, and it's a bigger deal re: basketball ... No more midnight madness.

Good point(s). Midnight madness especially.

Could they find a way around it? Something like having the practice end at 9PM and then having the pep rallies and other fan friendly activities afterward. The players can attend voluntarily (wink, nudge) as students, dressed in their uniforms?

Or would the pep rally and other activities still count as being athletically related?

There's an awful lot of kinesiology to learn overseas. Well worth the money.
