Game Thread Nebraska Cornhuskers at tOSU, Oct 6th, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/2

OK, my last last word on all of this - I haven't heard one thing from any fan who went to The Shoe that sounds like they had a bad time. The game aside, it seems like the fans all interacted together quite well. I'm not surprised - there are a lot of similarities in the two fan bases.

When we joined the Big Ten we were immediately warned about Madison. It proved true. We were also told, by your Big Ten brethren, that visiting Columbus was not always pleasant. If there had been problems, even minor gripes, I would have heard about it by now. But nothing. Everyone seems to have enjoyed their time in Columbus, even if the game sucked.

So... thanks for being such fantastic hosts. You guys are class acts. Here's hoping we see you again in Indy next year.

Dude... what if you are home alone and have to go to the kitchen to get a beer? Any self respecting man should have a TV in every room of his house.

You should know me well enough to know that I am anything but a self-respecting man.

hmm, aside from that lone ten-win season in '03, what exactly did he do there?
.500 isn't too great, and he was under that (32-48, .400) in conference play during his ten years at Minny.

Well, he got them to 7 bowls in 10 years, including 5 in a row. Before he arrived, they'd played in 5 bowls...total.

Agree with the 2nd sentence, though my iPAD and internet streaming have to serve that purpose in the smaller rooms.

Your first sentence is only valid if you're watching something other than football. What man-cave doesn't have a mini-fridge?

But you like beer, right?

Wolfe said Nebraska?s done a great job of balancing the North Stadium with the South and continues to be ultra-creative in the expansion of the East Stadium with the West. That Eastside project includes 38 new sky boxes, 2,100 new club seats and 3,200 additional seats.

balance? is that his gripe?

does this guy not realize that the same architect drew both stadiums?

the similarity is undeniable. besides, if either stadium is unbalanced, it certainly isn't the 'Shoe.

I think the similarities between The Shoe and Memorial Stadium ended when both teams added end zone seating. We went in very different directions at that point, no matter the similarity of our origins.

Memorial Stadium will be far more "balanced" next year when the expansion project is done. The pic above shows what the stadium has looked like for the better part of the last ten years, but this is the new East Stadium (to the left in the aerial photo above) under construction:
