Game Thread Nebraska Cornhuskers at tOSU, Oct 6th, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/2

I just wish some young up and coming sports journalist from Lincoln would sack up and ask Pelini about this band incident on the record. I doubt if any of them have enough hair on their ass to do it though, because big bad Bo will give them "the look".

Here would be the response"What kind of question is that?" the Charlie Weis model

I'll do whatever the fuck I want...

Love it! Greatest post ever. I'll save the space and not quote the whole thing.

Seriously, if we're supposed to believe that every. fucking. person. involved with the UNL football team was simply naive to the fact that it was homecoming or naive to the fact that you just flat out don't go on the field and "warm up" while any band is still on the field playing at halftime then I guess we have to believe their ignorance was without malice and just chalk it up and move on.

I feel like the Husker posters on this board are The Best bunch we as Buckeye fans may find anywhere and for that I'm thankful.

But Kyle's post did have me rolling!:oh:

I don't give a shit about Husker traditions, but if I were playing, I wouldn't even think about being on the field while the home team's band was performing.

I don't think Bo ordered them to interrupt one of, if not the greatest tradition in CFB. Admittedly, I have limited cable and net access these days. I haven't heard him apologize though. He should. That would make me feel better, and I could then gracefully take the win and move on.

Like I said, I've played football and watched all levels of football for damn near 25 years, and that's the first time I've ever seen that. If it were just "awe, shucks, I didn't know", you'd think it would happen far more often.

What I believe happened...is that your kicker knew he wasn't supposed to interrupt the home team's historic band performing at halftime of our homecoming game, but said "fuck it", I need to warm up. And for that, I say motherfuck him and all the coaches and trainers that saw it and allowed it, and Fuck Bo for not coming out and admitting it was bullshit.

If he has said something, I retract my statement about Bo...but of all people, he should know that Script Ohio is sacred.

Oh well, I'm sure Urban won't forget, and he has a history of holding a grudge.

Like I said though, I don't have a problem with Husker fans, minus the few bitching about running up the score or acting like Script Ohio isn't anything to worry about. Fuck those guys.

I'm trying to come up with something suitably snarky, which, at the same time, conveys my utmost respect for TBDBITL's prowess and motherfucking AWESOME halftime show and simultaneously apologizes for Brett Maher's (and by extension, the coaching staff's) error, but I'm also in the middle of making a wicked chicken cacciatore, and frankly, I got nothing. So here goes:

Now that we have your attention, what is your opinion of Pelini as a coach.

**** - I'm drunk. But I'll be honest as possible....

Man, I don't know about Pelini. Part of me says give him time. Part of me says we've seen this meltdown too many times.

You can't fire a coach who wins nine games a year every year and expect to get a good, established coach to replace him. Ask your new head coach about the Nebraska job circa 2003 and he'll tell you all about it. We're not going to make a lot of fans in the coaching fraternity firing guys who win games and go to bowls every year.

Bo, clearly, has limitations. He's unnecessarily antagonistic toward the press. I'm a Journalism major and I see Bo's side of this thing big-time, but even still, he's making enemies he doesn't need to make.

I've personally met Bo on a few occasions. Talking to him is a lot like asking the hottest chick in school on a date - it's possible you'll have an answer to remember for the rest of your days, but the reality is, she's a stone-cold bitch who doesn't want to talk to you, period. I have no doubt Bo is a good guy if you're in his circle. It's just that his circle is tremendously small, and I can guaran-goddamn-tee you I'm not in that circle. So it goes.

Bo's coaching chops were built on his uncanny defensive knowledge. I'd like to see that sometime, because it's been noticeably absent in big games these last few years. You're a defensive genius? Great - spin gold from this flax, and in the meantime recruit defensive gems into the fold so you can make this defense truly fearsome. That hasn't happened yet, and the honeymoon is WAAAAAAAY over after five years.

Still. . . There's something about Bo. I don't want to get rid of him. Rough edges and brusque manner aside, I'm curious to see if he can turn it around. He's still growing as a Head Coach. He's more Devaney than Osborne. I'm OK with him staying, but there needs to be improvement. Now.
