As many on here may remember I am a Spartan Fan.

I am losing my mind over the weekly stress of how they play. Yes I realize this past weekend was a blow out but that was an anomaly.

You are the only fans that know how to deal with or have dealt with years of Tressel ball. And this is what I am faced with each and every week. And I am coming to the realization that Mike Tressel is the likely next coach (I have zero inside information......just a feeling) and I am coming to realize that the all Defense no Offense life is what I am looking at for the next 15 years.

Yes it wins, and Yes this is tons better than pre-Dantonio. But it wears on your soul at times. I am wondering what to do. I know this, I do not want to start losing all the time. So I am happy with the boring winning. It beats the hell out of Exciting loses.

I am also curious to see how tOSU holds up as the season progresses. The team has looked pretty solid so far. I do not know much about Day so it is curious to see how he holds up.

I have stepped up by tailgate drinking. Which has helped. And maybe that is the answer. The issue is that when the stress really hits in the second half the buzz is wearing off.

The Mantra helps

Just say it over and over until you feel better

Get Lewerke and some of his buddies some tattoos for any trinkets they may own. Call Dantonio to tell him, but make sure he doesn't actually report it to the NCAA and instead signs a document saying he is not aware of any NCAA violations. You may have to forge his signature to get the optimal effect. Endure one year of awful football and a bowl ban that your AD probably could have easily avoided. Then, all you gotta do is hire a hall of fame coach. Easy peasy.

Hey, Bud, cheer the fuck up. You could be rooting for Speed In Space Cadet and the Wolverine Rangers.

I remember for the Tress years here I typically just tried to understand we weren't going to explode offensively more than likely. That we would win with great defense, great special teams, and an efficient offense.

So I suppose I was just honest with myself. I feel ya though because it can't be easy seeing OSU and even PSU recruit elite kids knowing you have to play them. Regardless you guys typically have solid teams and normally have a lot to look forwars to.

I don't mind the recruit gap. Dantonio has a system and I am good with the results. I would like to step it up a notch but the recruiting class he brought in with more talent completely busted out and did more damage than good to the program. So it is obvious that at least this coaching staff has a sweet spot and it is 2-3 star kids and an occasional 4 star that all have a chip on their shoulders. Our program does not seem to function properly with 5 stars. Or at least the 4-5 star guys we brought in.
The issue is the endless boring play calling and conservative plays. Over and over. I do get the feeling that Dantonio and staff realize that with 8 seniors on this Defense that it is this year or bust. So I am curious to see how things progress. This past week was better play calling and more aggressive play calling than I have seen in quite some time.
