Last week I was able to download some NES roms. They seemed pretty fun so a couple days ago I bought a USB game controller (looks like a PS2 controller). It just came in today and I can already tell that I am going to waste a lot of time playing these games. I just tried it on Contra and it kicks ass. As soon as I get a chance to fix up the buttons I'm going to be in trouble.

how much was this controller. there are some roms that just arent fun playing with the keyboard and i wish i was able to play them again. i have punch out, and tecmo bowl....then i just got bored.

Thx, that will be helpful. I've only been able to make it to the 3rd level and I'm too lazy to look up the code.

Last time I checked (it's been a while since I've used the roms) you could find them anywhere. Just google "NES roms," "NES emulation," or "NES emulator." You should come up with something. Just be careful about where you're going with spyware/viruses, etc.

Thats what i wouldve done at home....but didnt get there for lunch. i might have a good rom webpage bookmarked. ill check it out later tonight.

*most rom pages were shut down because like mp3s or dvd rips....piracy is illegal. apparently to be legal you need to actually own the game you have a rom of. but blah....i dont own mike tysons punch out and i can still get my ass beat by the sand man each time.

I think I just had a brain fart and gave you rep instead of hitting reply. I got mine from Limewire.
haha, yes you did, i was wonderin about that............i guess it's the paint chips

thx for the responses.........it never even dawned on me that you can play old NES games on the cpu, i got a lot of lost ground to make up for, my wife's not gonna be happy about this

does the same go for the atari games out there? are they considered "roms", anybody know the best place to find those?

Yeah, they're pretty sweet. My favorite part about the games is the "quicksave" option. You can save in the middle of a level and if you die you can reload it. It may well be cheating, but it's very helpful.
