I grew up wearing nothing but Nike, be it for running, cross-training, or playing basketball. Their shoes have definitely changed. I cannot wear Nike anymore, period. The shoes are thinner, and changed the support and sole from what was so popular 10 years ago. I have spoken about this with several associates of mine, so-called "people in the know", and they advise me that it isn't a secret, and Nike has admitted to the change. I bought my first pair of New Balance about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. I haven't had them long enough for the durability test, but they have passed every other test. I will never buy another pair of Nike's again.

My mom's been wearing Rockports for as long time. 15 years maybe.
She loves them and says as you do that there just isn't any other shoe.

It's because of this though that I can't buy'em. I mean, it would be like accepting that I'm old and I need my mom's comfortable shoes. If you know what I mean!
