I give up. This board is too hard to understand.
add me to the list of people who suck a these games..... the only one I'm ok at is asteroids.

Asteroids drives me nuts! I used to be really, really, REALLY good at it 25 years ago at the Continent in CBus....scores in the multiple 10s of thousands became routine. Lord knows I wish I had back the gazillion quarters I invested back in those days.
Of course, I'm an older guy now and my reflexes are not as fast, but more importantly this game while quite similar has some significant differences. For one thing, it is not apparent that there is a "hyperspace" (escape) key built in, unlike the old game. I don't know why, it should not be that much of a programming challenge.
Secondly, the arrow keys, at least mine, are not as smooth or refined in aligning the shooting tip as in the old game. Third, the spaceships are MUCH more frequent (not so much more aggressive) than before. One NEVER saw a spaceship continue on unabated once it had hit you. It always recycled however quickly.
Finally on the final hit on our ship, the game seems to anticipate & use proximity rather than contact to wipe you out. I have had only one decent score in several days of trying, and this is hard on an old fart with fond memories of the glory days!

Hexxagon is my new favorite game.... very addicting. I should leave while I can still enjoy some of the night.... beofre I know it I'll be playing all night.

As more games are coming, I've made a minor change to the postbit (the area above your post that has your username and information).
Whereas before a small game icon was presented, along with text indicating you're the champion of whatever title, now it simply displays a small trophy for each title you hold. You can move your mouse over any of these trophies to see what game they're for, and I believe even the score. You can also click on the trophies to go directly to that game in order to unseat the reigning champ.
This is to prevent unwieldy postbits if one person has too many titles (*cough*, Vince), but also to make pages a little lighter for our modem users.
Two new games will be added this evening;
Pingu Slap - Where we're back to the arctic for the sequel to Penguin Bashing. It's a fun one.
Monkey Lander - So there's a monkey, and he's in a moon lander, and you have to avoid obstacles to pick up fruit before you land. But, I mean it's a monkey in a moon lander, how wrong can you go?
More games are on the way.
The challenge system is a big part of the arcade, and I know not many people have used it yet. I'm going to send challenges to a number of people active in the arcade so that you all might get first-hand experience with how it works.
If you ever want to challenge someone to a head-to-head matchup, just click on their username. In the arcade, you'll be taken to their stats page, and you'll find a link to challenge them in there. On the main forum (here), if you click their name, you'll get a pulldown. Inside that is another place to initiate a challenge.

I blew 200,000 away in Breakout and just because I was playing it as a challenge against Clarity it won't register the score in the Arcade??? THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I blame you, Clarity.

lol, no worries, it's a known bug and one they've already fixed. Your score is in the database, and it will show up in the right place later this weekend when I upgrade both the forum and the arcade.
Just consider it a delayed crowning.

I just think it's funny that you waited until I challenged you to drop the biggest score to date in Breakout. lol. Thanks!
You can tell what people think of you by how badly they throttle you in the games.
