New donation links up.

After repeated requests, and no small amount of procrastination on my end, I've put up donation links for off-season kick-in's towards the new server, site as a whole, etc.

You can find detailed information for Paypal, Amazon or mailed donations on the front page, or a small paypal link in the footer on the bottom of any page.

This seems like an unobtrusive way to handle off-drive donations, and as someone recently told me, "turning donations towards the server away just because you're not running an organized drive is just plain stupid." Lol. Message received.

Thanks to everyone who encouraged this move, I appreciate it.

Sorry for the mega delay PoppaT. Clarity's been ill and I just noticed this question. I believe the dream goal for a server that will fill our neers for the forseeable future is about 12 grand. Somewhere in the 4-6 grand range would net us a stop-gap solution. This would fill our needs for another 1-2 years before traffic pushed that to its limits as well. I have no idea how far along we are on proceeds for a new server.

I noticed this down in the corner awhile back, but am of the mind set that I will donate about twice a year. I guess I'm asking if there will be a spring "pledge drive" this year. Or will all donations just trickle in happenstance?

I feel that having the icon up all the time can be helpfull, because some of us can only come up with the vcash at certain times, and those times aren't always when a drive is going on.

Some of us though tend to give more when they see a pile of our buddies jumping on the bandwagon, and don't wanna feel left out. When you see two or three pages of posts telling the vcheck is in the mail, it can maybe guilt some fence sitters into giving also. :! I guess I probably fall in this last paragraph here somewhere.

Grad and the other admins/mods have more info on this than I do, but from the PM's between Clarity and I, and Mili and I there WILL be a spring drive and a fall drive. However, I encourage everyone to give whenever possible. This IS the best Buckeye site on the net and we don't want to let this place be limited by lack of funds for a new server.

Think of it this way... there are over 3,000 members. With that in mind, if everyone donated $5 that would be more than enough for a new server. Now we all know that every member won't donate money so say half of the members do... that's only $10 for each person. Is that really too much to ask? I don't think so. It's for a good cause. Come on people... give a little.

WOW, who would've thought you would need a new server due to traffic before the database was even up and running?!

Godbless "C", hope your feeling better.

Paranoia

Ok, call me paranoid, but I don't buy many things on-line so when I went to donate it was only like the second or third time I ever put my credit car number on the internet, so I want to be sure that I gave money to the right person. It said I was sending money to [email protected]. Is that right???
Thanks
