Game Thread New Mexico St 0, tOSU 45 (Oct 31, Noon ET, BTN)

There is a possibility this team is worse than YSU last year. I just hope that the Killer instinct, that was talked about and for all intents and purposes shown against minny, shows up again to wipe out this opponent. It kinda sucks that the placement is right before State Penn. Overconfidence would not be good going there the following week.

Well overconfidence probably shouldn't happen again after the Purdue ordeal. I would think the team will try and use this game to shore up everything they can to hopefully be as polished as possible before PSU.

having been at Ohio Stadium for the 31-27 "beatdown" of Navy, I just don't think we're gonna score that willy-nilly... and as we learned against the Spoilermakers, weak opponents make us weak.
Navy is a decent team (6-2 currently and bowl bound)

New Mexico State is.......... terrible

NM State-Fresno State postgame quotes - New Mexico State Athletics Official Web Site - NMStateSports.com

Some quotes from Coach DeWayne Walker.

On the loss to Fresno State:
"We have to score points. I know the first half I thought the defense played their butts off. I thought for most of the night the defense played well enough for us to win, but we couldn't score points. We had touchdowns on us on special teams and you're not going to win a lot of games that way. Our guys are fighting and we're just going to go back to the drawing boards and get ready for next week."

On NM State's offensive struggles:
"We have to score touchdowns. I know defensively I thought we played well enough to win, but when we're not scoring touchdowns, it's going to be tough for us."

On the Aggies struggling in the passing game:
"I'm sure when we watch the tape we'll see that we had opportunities to score some touchdowns, but I'm not going to take anything away from their defense. They play hard every week."

On NM State's strong defensive effort:
"This is another explosive offense. I don't know what their stats are, but I'm sure we kept them under what they normally have. If you look at the points, we gave up 17 points on defense and 17 in other areas, so we just have to keep working and building."

On next week's game against Ohio State:
"It's going to be another big challenge."

Hope we don't take these guys lightly. Some of the Aggies struggles were ours a few weeks ago - scoring touchdowns. That may be on the mend from here on out for tOSU.

I will be attending this game. My first Buckeye game ever, and god damnit I'm excited.

Enjoy it to its fullest bro. It probably won't be much of a game, but between the band and the crowd and the stadium and the alma mater, you won't even notice.
