Yesterday, we saw some dramatic changes in the offense, especially early in the game. A completely new base formation seemingly with Ginn lined up in a half slot/half RB position. Ginn in the backfield. A lot of option being run.
What did you guys think?
To me, it seemed like they were forcing getting the ball to Ginn instead of trying to do it in the flow of the game. That, coupled with essentially a new offense being run, led to a huge lack of consistency IMO and a whole lot of 3 and outs. Between the 3 and outs and Purdue's long drives, our poor defense was getting run ragged.
I have a feeling we are going to have the same problem against UM that we did last year, a dog tired defense vs their well rested offense.
Did anyone get a sense if we changed schemes on offense back to normal at halftime or if it just started working better?
